can someone in the "know" please update us on the akka 2.4.0 release date?

Hi Andrei,

please refer to the roadmap update I posted recently (it also links to the roadmap document). The github milestones are not authoritative in these matters.

it is an estimate, and as such it is still current, but please keep in mind that an estimate is not a guarantee.

Hi all,

Just out of curiosity: is someone able to shed light on a possible Akka 2.4.0 release date?

Will it be a matter of weeks or more of months? Just to get a feeling whether it would be smart to rely on a snapshot version for a (hopefully) little while

Hi Bas,

the distance to 2.4.0 can probably be measured in weeks if you use both hands, meaning that it will be more than a month but much less than a year. After clearing the Streams & HTTP 1.0-RC1 internal milestone we are currently starting to work actively towards 2.4-M1 and we will have a clearer picture once we get there—which is indeed a matter of weeks.
