Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.59

Do you consider yourself Liberal, conservative, populist or
libertarian?

I suppose i am a cross between liberal and libertarian, I believe in
helping others out, and a sense of community, while I also believe
that people must eventually teach themselves to be self sufficient and
handle their own problems, I dont particularly like any of these
classifications for aspects of all can be construed to relate to me,
simply enough, i am a Buckist. (now recruiting)

What issues matter most to you?

Many issues matter to me, and yet, in a much more real sense, they
don't, because I am not able to develop a good feel for many of the
issues of today due to the political dilution of all messages, i am
uncomfortable forming decisions. However, the ones more pertinent to
me, I can typically take a stand on. Health care debates interest me
and I feel they are very important. I feel that gay rights are
important, they can do anything their heart desires, honestly don't
care a bit. Enforcement of cyber crime punishment is pretty
interesting to me. Anything involving charitable organizations are
very important to me for obvious reasons.

How were your political beliefs formed?

I really try to develop an impartial view in a situation. Get the
hard facts, and see what feels right to me, what would benefit the
most people in the most ways, it is never that simple, but that is how
I enumerate my options and opinions, I hear political beliefs daily,
they seep through every ounce of news that reaches my ears. It is
hard to decipher sometimes what has been carried over in the long
distance between events and a teens ears, various opinions are
transferred when recanting stories, so I try to look at politics and
different issues objectively. Therefore. Impartial. (ironic as it may
seem, my impartiality, because it is a lack of a political view, is
still a political view, and has been most encouraged by my father and
my personal experiences.)

Part 2

4."Since the moon landing more than forty years ago, do you think the
U.S. space program has accomplished more than you expected, less than
you expected, or about what you expected it to accomplish by now?"
More- 23%
Less- 36%
About as expected- 35%
Unsure/Refused- 6%

I think the space program has accomplished about as expected, seeing
as though i wasn't around for the beginning to make an estimate, im
speaking from time of birth till now, and so far, we have learned as
much as I would have hoped we could have.

"As you may know, the U.S. space shuttle program is scheduled to
launch its final mission in July 2011. Given the costs and risks
involved in space exploration, do you think the Space Shuttle program
has been a worthwhile program, or not?"
Yes- 63%
No- 31%
Unsure/Refused- 6%

Yes, it's a pinnacle of American pride.

"How do you feel about the U.S. space shuttle program coming to an
end? Are you pleased, disappointed, or don't you care much one way or
the other?"
Pleased- 16%
Disappointed- 48%
Dont care- 33%
Unsure/refused- 3%

I am disappointed, it was one of those things I felt really proud
about for being an American.

5. I believe the questions are perfectly adequate, there really isn't
anything the questions were lacking.

6. No one else has responded yet I dont think, I shall post again
later.

Part 1
Record the two numbers it gives you for results:
Economic Left/Right: -4.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.59
B)Do you consider yourself Liberal, conservative, populist or
libertarian?
I consider myself to be libertarian.
C)What issues matter most to you?
Defining freedom and boundaries in America and helping the less
fortunate are issues that matter the most to me.
D)How were your political beliefs formed?
My political beliefs were formed through life experience and watching
what is going on in the world.

Part 2
4) Post the poll results for the questions and add your own answers:
"Do you think abortion should be legal in all cases, legal in most
cases, illegal in most cases, or illegal in all cases?"
Legal in all cases:
19%
Legal in most cases:
35%
Illegal in most cases:
30%
Illegal in all cases:
15%
Unsure:
2%

I feel abortion should be legal in most cases. I do believe this poll
is adequate in what it is trying to determine however it could be more
specific on which "cases".

"Here are some constitutional issues that the U.S. Supreme Court has
issued rulings on in the past few years. Please tell me if you
personally strongly agree with each position, somewhat agree, somewhat
disagree, or strongly disagree with each of the following. A woman
should have the right to decide to terminate a pregnancy in the first
few months of her pregnancy."
Strongly agree:
45%
Somewhat agree:
19%
Somewhat disagree:
11%
Strongly disagree:
24%
Unsure/Refused:
2%
I strongly agree with this. The poll is adequate for what is trying to
determine.

"In general, do you support or oppose the new federal requirement that
private health insurance plans cover the full cost of birth control
and other preventive services for their female patients?"
Support:
66%
Oppose:

Part 2
I chose the Death Penalty for my issue

"In your opinion, is the death penalty imposed too often, about the
right amount, or not often enough?"
Too Often: 18%
About Right: 26%
Not Enough: 49%
Unsure: 7%

I would have to say not enough because there are a lot of people who
do things so awful that they deserve to die, and they end up in prison
for like 10 years. If the death penalty was used more often than
there would be, in theory, a distint decrease in crime

"As you may know, according to the U.S. Constitution, any punishment
that is considered 'cruel and unusual' cannot be used on people
convicted of any crime. Do you consider the death penalty to be a
cruel and unusual punishment, or don't you feel that way?"
Is cruel and unusual: 26%
Don't feel that way: 74%

I don't feel that it is cruel and unusual, the people recieving
capital punishment are recieving painless deathes. Their victims did
not. Nuff said

"Some people support the use of surveillance cameras in public places
as a way to help solve crimes. Others say these cameras go too far as
a government intrusion on personal privacy. What's your opinion? Do
you support or oppose the increased use of surveillance cameras in
public places?"
Support: 71%
Oppose: 29%

I support the increased use of surveillance cameras because if you
aren't doing anything wrong, than you shouldnt have to worry about
anything. And it isnt an intrusion of personal privacy if the cameras
are in public places

A)
Economic Left/Right: -1.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.69

B.) I consider myself to be a libertarian because I think that all
individuals should be granted equal rights and freedom.

C.) Some issues that matter most to me would be the obvious issue of
rascism and injustice. I also think that issues regarding education
have become very important over the years. I understand that America
wants its citizen's to be educated, but if you force them to attend
school and they only waste their time, then are they really learning
anything? Instead they are just wasting valuable time and money, that
could go towards another student's education. Some other issues
include freedom and abortions rights.

D.) My political beliefs mostly come from my parents and things i see
on the news, internet, magazines, etc.

Part 2:

4.)
"As you may know, under the current federal program to help pay for
college, students get loans from banks and other financial
institutions, with the government guaranteeing those loans. Would you
favor or oppose a proposal to have the government provide loans to
college students directly, which would increase the amount of money
available for college loans?"

Favor: 64%
Oppose: 34%
Worse; 2%

I think that allowing the gov't to have specific loans specifically
for college students would increase the chance of a student to attend
a college. Most students are discouraged to apply to colleges because
they can't afford it and are not given a chance to have a loan.

"Do you think students should be required to learn a foreign language
in order to graduate from high school, or not?"

Should: 51%
Should not: 47%
Unsure: 2%

I actually think students should be required to take a foreign
language because this broadens their knowledge and allows them to
become familiar with another culture. Nowadays, our country is very
diverse and it's important for students in high school to become aware
of this and immerse themselves in another language. This also will
help, if the student every travels abroad.

"As far as you know, do you think, on average, public school teachers
in this country are paid too much, too little, or about the right
amount?"

Too Much: 4%
Too Little: 66%
About right: 24%
Unsure: 6%

I believe that public school teachers are paid too little because they
basically devote their life to their job. They are constantly having
to grade students papers/work and still create their lesson plans. A
lot more goes into teaching than people think. Also, public schools
are often overcrowded with too many students and not enough teachers,
causing the teacher an even bigger burden. Overall, i think teacher's
should be paid much more than they are now.

5.) Yep, i think these questions are adequate and address all the main
problems facing education today.

1.) Angela's post : "Do you think abortion should be legal in all
cases, legal in most
cases, illegal in most cases, or illegal in all cases?"

I think that abortion should be legal in all cases, it is ultimately
based on the mother's decision and you never know the situation that
she might be in. However, i'm not saying i support abortion. i just
believe that if a person want's one, then it's their decision because
it's their body.

2.) "In your opinion, is the death penalty imposed too often, about
the
right amount, or not often enough?"

I agree, because so many criminals are left to live, yet the crime
they have done is so bad that they deserve to die. I also think that
the decision to give people the death penalty is based more on race
and background than the actual crime. Most death row cases in texas
include criminals that are mostly black, mexican, and men. You hardly
see any women or white people being executed, instead they just get
jail time.

Part 1
A) Economic Left/Right: -4.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.28

B) I would like to consider myself a conservative.

C) One of the issues that matters to me most is Social Security. For
someone to work hard all their life’s and not get some kind of
benefits from the government in their old age, I just don’t
understand. I think I feel this way because I have older parents (54
and 65 years old) so I know how it could affect the families.

D) My political beliefs formed by my parents. I grew up always talking
about what was going on in the government. I take a lot of beliefs
from my parents.

Part 2
4) Dates are 9/23-25/2011

"Would you say that the Social Security system has been good for the
country, has been bad for the country, or has had no effect on the
country?"
Good: 79%
Bad: 15%
No Effect: 5%
Unsure: 1%

I would say that Social Security has been good for the country.

"And how about you personally? Would you say that the Social Security
system has been good for you personally, has been bad for you
personally, or has had no effect on you personally?
Good: 38%
Bad: 12%
No Effect: 50%

I would say that personally Social Security has been good for me
because I now have a father that gets Social Security and since I am
under 18 years old and still in school part of that money is assigned
to my name, so I get part of the money.

"Which of these statements do you think best describes the Social
Security system? It is in a state of crisis. It has major problems. It
has minor problems. OR, It does not have any problems."
In a state of crisis: 22%
Has major problems: 49%
Has minor problems: 25%
Doesn't have any problems: 4%

In the state of a crisis I think it has major problems, we’ve already
seen a fight over how to work Social Security and I know that if
politicians can’t agree on how to work it then it must have some major
problems.

"Do you think that the Social Security system is something that the
U.S. Constitution allows the federal government to do, or do you think
the Social Security system is unconstitutional?"
Allows: 73%
Does not allow: 21%
Unsure: 6%

I have no answer for this question.

"As you may know, a proposal has been made that would allow workers to
invest part of their Social Security taxes in the stock market or in
bonds, while the rest of those taxes would remain in the Social
Security system. Do you favor or oppose this proposal?"
Favor: 52%
Oppose: 46%
Unsure: 2%

I would favor this proposal because it says you can’t but you don’t
have to invest your taxes in the stock market or in bond.

5) I think the questions are adequate for what the poll is trying to
determine because it starts off in a general sense, then it moves to a
personal level and lastly to an official government level. I think
that covers all the levels that should be asked, so it gets questioned
from every level.

6) Response to Angela Oates post:
"Do you think abortion should be legal in all cases, legal in most

I feel abortion should be illegal in all cases. I believe abortion is
just a selfish excuse to give up a responsibility that in most cases,
is the women and her partners fault. The only exception to this would
be rape, but i still think it is wrong to get an abortion in this case
also.

Part 1
Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -3.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.59

I consider myself more of a populist with some liberal and libertarian
beliefs. The issues that matter to me are the problems of the nation
as a whole, like the economy, as well as civil rights, like gay
marriage, and preparing for the nations future. My political beliefs
were formed through growing up in a reality based world.

Part 2

"How much confidence do you have that the government in Washington
D.C. will make progress over the next year on the most important
problems facing the country: a lot of confidence, some confidence, not
much confidence, or no confidence at all?"
A lot of confidence 7%
Some confidence 35%
Not much confidence 35%
No confidence at all 23%
Unsure/Refused 1%

-I have some confidence in the government but not very much. The pole
are adequate.

"Overall, which party -- the Democrats or the Republicans -- do you
trust to do a better job in coping with the main problems the nation
faces over the next few years?"
Democrats 43%
Republicans 31%
Both (vol.) 2%
Neither (vol.) 15%
Unsure/Refused 9%

-Neither party has proven themselves efficient enough to run the
government. Maybe I should be president :3
Poles are adequate.

"This year, have Republicans and Democrats in Washington been working
together more to solve problems, or have they been bickering and
opposing one another more than usual?"
Working together 9%
Bickering, opposing 82%
Same as in the past (vol.) 3%
Unsure/Refused 6%

Part 1
A. Economic Left/Right: .25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.59

B. I consider my self a neutral person because I believe that the
people should have power as well as the government. Also, I can think
as a conservative person but still be liberal.

C. The issue that matters most to me is abortion since it has been an
ongoing thing. I think that if people don't want their baby they
should just give it in adoption instead of killing it.

D. My political beliefs were formed by justice and logic. I just think
that there are things that government should be involved in and others
that they shouldn't even mind. For example government should have the
right to control inflation but not the right to restrict marijuana.

Part 2
4. "Do you think abortion should be legal in all cases, legal in most
cases, illegal in most cases, or illegal in all cases?"
Legal in all cases: 19%
Legal in most cases: 35%
Illegal in most cases: 30%
Illegal in all cases: 15%
Unsure: 2%

I think abortion should be illegal in most cases because women should
just give their babies in adoption if they don't want them. And it
should be right for them to have abortion if they are having pregnancy
complications.

"With respect to the abortion issue, would you consider yourself to be
pro-choice or pro-life?"
Pro-choice: 49%
Pro-life: 45%
Neither/Mixed (vol.): 3%
Don't know what terms mean (vol.): 2%
Unsure: 2%

I consider my self mixed because I do believe that people should have
the right to decide if they really want their baby, but that doesn't
give them the right to kill them.

"Do you support or oppose cutting off federal government funding to
Planned Parenthood?"
Support: 43%
Oppose: 53%
Unsure: 5%

Although Planned Parenthood does exercise some abortions, I oppose
cutting of the funding because Planned Parenthood helps millions of
women, men, and young people worldwide by preventing pregnancy for
those who can't bear it, and it delivers reproductive health care, sex
education, and information to them.

5. These questions are adequate for what the poll is trying to
determine since they all relate to the topic of abortion and the
answer really do reveal what Americans think over the issue.

Part One

A) economic left/right: -0.75
social libertarian/ authoritarian: -2.72

B) It's kind of hard to choose to be either or, but I feel like I
would be a little of all. I can relate to some details and others I
would oppose to. I guess it just depends on the issue that's being
addressed and my stance on it. For example, I would be considered a
conservative instead of a liberalist because I believe we as
individuals can solve our problems and not have the government have to
solve it for us because they might make it worse, you never know.

C) Some issues that stand out to me are: immigration, racism, and gay
marriage. I feel like these issues are very controversial. Many states
are now establishing anti-immigration laws and I understand why, but
it's upsetting having to see many people want to have a better life
here and they just can't. Racism is never good and this has been going
on for so many years and you're always going to have those people who
are racist, but you can't do anything about it except prove them
wrong. I believe in love and I also believe that anyone has the right
to fall in love with whom they wish whether it is a girl or boy or
whatever, but as long as their happy, it's all good.

D) My parents are a huge factor in my political beliefs, but I do try
to be just and I am an empathetic person, so I do try to see where
people are coming from or why I should believe something is right or

“Do you think abortion should be legal under any circumstances, legal
only under certain circumstances, or illegal in all circumstances?”

Always legal: 21%
Sometimes legal: 56%
Always illegal: 22%
Unsure: 1%

I feel like it should always be legal because no one ever knows the
true reason for it. The question is adequate for which the poll is
trying to determine.

“The Supreme Court legalized abortion 37 years ago in the ruling known
as Roe versus Wade. If that case came before the court again, would
you want the next justice to vote to uphold Roe versus Wade, or vote
to overturn it?”

Uphold: 59%
Overturn: 38%
Unsure: 3%

I would uphold Roe v. Wade because I feel like abortion should still
be an option for women. The question is adequate for what it's trying
to determine.

“Which of these comes closest to your views about abortion? A woman
should be able to get an abortion if she decides she wants one no
matter what the reason. Abortion should only be legal in certain
circumstances, such as when a woman's health is endangered or when the

in all circumstances.”

Available no matter what the reason: 37%
Only legal in certain circumstances: 44%
Illegal in all circumstances: 15%

I think abortion should be available no matter what the reason is.

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -0.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.03

I consider myself more of a populist with some liberal beliefs. The issues that matter to me are the problems of the nation as a whole, like the economy, as well as civil rights. My political beliefs were formed growing up through life experience and watching what is going on in the world.

>>>Part 2

"Would you say that the Social Security system has been good for the
country, has been bad for the country, or has had no effect on the
country?"
Good: 79%
Bad: 15%
No Effect: 5%
Unsure: 1%
I say that Social Security has been good for the country but it's to bad that it's going away.

"As you may know, under the current federal program to help pay for college, students get loans from banks and other financial institutions, with the government guaranteeing those loans. Would you favor or oppose a proposal to have the government provide loans to
college students directly, which would increase the amount of money available for college loans?"
Favor: 64%
Oppose: 34%
Worse: 2%
I think that allowing the government to have specific loans specifically for college students would increase the chance of a student to attend a college. Because most students aren't applying to colleges because they can't afford and don't want to try out a loan.

"Do you think students should be required to learn a foreign language in order to graduate from high school, or not?"
Should: 51%
Should not: 47%
Unsure:  2%
I think students should not be required to take a foreign language because in my experience of taking a foreign language the teacher was more concerned on getting everyone to pass than actually teach the language and also the teachers that do teach are more worried that we know were the accent marks go and not actually know how to say the word properly. Nowadays, our country is very diverse and it's important for students in high school to become aware. Also if more schools had a travel club more students will be able to experience new things.

5) I think the questions are acceptable for what the poll is trying to determine because it starts off in a general sense, then it moves to a personal level and lastly to an official government level. I think that it covers all the levels that should be asked.

6)
>I agree with Bridget, because students don’t care where the money is coming

Part 1:

A)Economic Left/Right: -7.12
Social Libertarian: -3.28

B) I don't really specifically categorize myself in a specific group
because i think i can both agree and disagree on some issues within
each group. But, i think I'm more of a liberal than any other because
i think that as individuals we should have personal freedoms and
choices along with an authority so that there isn't chaos.

C) I think that issues concerning helping others in the community,
health care, and education matter a lot to me because of the impact
that it will have on not only a certain group of people but everyone.
But overall i think every issue is really important.

D) My political beliefs were first formed by my parents and then
eventually started forming through experiences and my own values.

Part 2:

4)
"Which comes closer to your view? Abortion should be generally
available to those who want it. Abortion should be available but under
stricter limits than it is now. Abortion should be against the law
except in cases of rape, incest and to save the woman's life. Abortion
should not be permitted at all."

Generally Available- 31%
Stricter Limits- 20%
Rape, Incest,Woman's Life Only- 35%
Not Permitted At All- 11%
Unsure- 3%

I'm unsure because i think that abortion should be available depending
on the situation, but that they should be opened minded of all the
different situation possibilities and more than like just rape.

"Regardless of whether or not you think abortion should be legal, do
you personally believe that having an abortion is morally wrong in
nearly all circumstances, morally wrong in some circumstances, or is
it not a moral issue?"

Nearly Always Morally Wrong- 24%
Sometimes Morally Wrong- 49%
Not a Moral Issue- 24%
Unsure- 3%

I think abortions are nearly always morally wrong.

"Do you think the question of whether abortion should be legally
permitted is something that should be decided at the national level,
or is it something that each state should decide for itself?"

National Level- 55%
Each State- 39%
Unsure- 6%

I think that it should be decided at a national level just so that the
opportunity would be the same for all Americans and because i think it
will probably lead to less controversy between states.

5) I think the questions are very adequate for the poll because it's
not just a closed yes or no decision poll but it allows you to express
what you think with your values but also what you think would be best
for everyone which can sometimes contrast with your own beliefs.

6)

Response1(Buck Schroeter-."Since the moon landing more than forty
years ago, do you think the
U.S. space program has accomplished more than you expected, less than
you expected, or about what you expected it to accomplish by now?" ) :
Because the space program started in a time before my generation was
born, with my experience, i think they accomplished less than i
expected(just within the past 17 years). Today's a society in which
Technology is advancing everyday and i think that in the recent years
the space program hasn't really reached up to that potential as much
as computers, phones, and other things have. I always saw new shuttles
and machines going up into space but no one really told us what the
difference in advancements were between the old and the new so it just
led me to believe that not much was being done to make our space
program better. However, if you look over the entire forty years the
space program, by far, has exceeded its expectations.

Response2(Longcat-"In your opinion, is the death penalty imposed too
often, about the
right amount, or not often enough?") : I think that the death penalty
is imposed too often because there's really no way for absolute
certainty that an individual is guilty and i think with that much
uncertainty it just wouldn't be right to kill a person who in a year
from now might be found innocent.

1) My two numbers are 0.38 and -2.05. I consider myself Libertarian.
The issues that matter most to me social issues. I care a lot about
Civil Liberties and freedom of expression. My Das has had a huge
impact on my political beliefs because he’s been talking to me about
the world since I was a kid and since learning about his beliefs, I
agree with them.

Part 1

1) My results:
(-3, -3.85)

2) Do you consider yourself Liberal, conservative, populist or
libertarian?
I concider myself very liberal with some conservative beliefs.

3) What issues matter most to you?
The most important issues that matter to me are a: our foreign
affairs, b: our current economic status and c: what we're doing with
our children's education.

4) How were your political beliefs formed?
My political views were a mix of my dad's beliefs and my personal
stand against the government, it's actions and values.

Part 2

1) The poll I chose was "Remembering 9/11":
"Thinking back to the time right after the September 11th attacks, do
you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush dealt with the
attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in
Washington?"
Approve 56%
Disapprove 38%
Unsure 5%
I disapprove with how Bush handled the whole situation, even though I
don't think he really handled it, he just did what his dad's advisors
told him to do. There's not much else you could've done in that
situation though.

"Do you personally plan to do anything specific to commemorate the
anniversary of 9/11 next week?"
Yes 45%
No 50%
Unsure 5%
No, I dont personally plan on doing on 9/11 to commemorate it ever
because I dont think it should be celebrated or exaulted in anyway. We
did it to ourselves and our government is the only institution to
blame.

"Thinking back, do you think there is anything that the U.S. did wrong
in its dealings with other countries that might have motivated the
September 11th terrorist attacks, or not?"
Yes 43%
No 45%
Unsure 13%
Yes, we shouldn't have trained their armys, given them their weapons,
or set it up so that it looked like they did it in the first place.

2) Are the questions adequate for what the poll is trying to
determine?
Yes because it is asking about how people remember 9/11; you cant
really remember an event without remembering what happened afterwards.
It works for the second one because it shows how people really feel
about it, half dont care and half do, with a small portion of people
who want to feel PC and not guilty when answering an anonymous poll.
The third one also works because they determined how people feel about
the government's part in the event and thats a good stand point to
look at.

3) My response to two other students polls:
a: "As you may know, the U.S. space shuttle program is scheduled to
launch its final mission in July 2011. Given the costs and risks
involved in space exploration, do you think the Space Shuttle program
has been a worthwhile program, or not?"
I agree with Buck and what he said about the American Space Program.
Even though they messed up, it shouldn't just nullify all of it's
accomplishments.

b:"In your opinion, is the death penalty imposed too often, about the
right amount, or not often enough?"
I agree with Tyler, the death penalty is not used enough; some people
disgrace the human race with the things they do. Child rapists,
murders, you don't go back from that, you shouldn't be forgiven for
that- no matter how many days you spend in a cell for free, eating
free food, and using free comodities. Most of the time, the cats
should be castrated, but that might be "cruel and unusual punishment"
but I feel like it would give more of an incentive to not do those
types of crimes :)

A)Number results

B)Do you consider yourself Liberal, conservative, populist or
libertarian?
I always thought myself as a libertarian, seeing how I dislike
most government
interference.in peoples lives. The government doesnt exactly have
a great track
record when it comes to such matters.

C)What issues matter most to you?
I personaly find gay, and abortion rights very intresting. (funny
because neither actually effect me personaly)
More specificly the opposement of such rights. What business of
the state is sexual preferance?
Or that of a womens body?
Sounds like government officials trying to dictate morals from a
religious point of view in the guise of
legitimate legislation.

D)How were your political beliefs formed?
I was raised in a catholic home where god was everything. One
could say
my parents formed me into the athiest I am today because of it, so
I guess
I should thank them for helping me form my own opinions. My
political beliefs spawned off of the fierce opposition
I hold to anything representing a strong religious institution, or
an overtly strong institution capable of trampling on
peoples rights and sort of just grew from that. As more issues are
brought to my attention my opinions form off of historical
points of view (such as prohibition and the current war on drugs,
funny how we never seem to learn huh?)
and that of attempts made by other countrys facing similar
problems (Swiss gun laws being a great example.)

One of the largest arguements against simply locking up murderers for
four times their life span is that it costs the government
tax dollars that pay for said convicts meals. Make them work, feed
them less, give them no benifits such as bedding or shaving cream, but
never take their lives. We might be killing the worst scum our
society has to offer, but we also are killing people who have later
been proven
innocent by DNA evidence just recently discovered, and in the act
making all tax payers murderers.

As in the above rant, I again stress we are sticking in needles

frequently
as it is. In cases such as Charrie Manson? Sure. I could see why
people would want the guy dead, he is a clear and pressent danger to
society,
but locking the guy up for the rest of his miserable, digustingly
sick, nazi forehead life is a cold way to deal out some justice.

-I believe abortions should be illegal in all cases. If you are grown
up enough to have sex then obviously you think you're grown up enough
to
take care of a baby. Making it 'legal in most cases' would be just
another way for people to get out of having a child. A lot of people
may respond
to the question, "well what if she was raped?" Census.gov statistics
show that in 2009 81,280 women were raped in the US compared to
102,560 in 1990.
The United States had 157.2 million(Census) women living in it. Which
means that only about .05% of women in the US were raped. The fact
that the percentage is that low is what makes me believe that the law
should be black and white. Either it is allowed or it isnt.
-I do believe that this question is adequate for what the poll is

A)Economic Left/Right: -7.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.90
B) I really have no faith whatsoever in any reforms for the rights of
any citizen of the United States at this point, so i chose a good
while back that no matter who gets elected now, its at a point where
it matters. If any corporations can spend untold amounts to campaigns
and political parties, it sounds more of a Fascist-made play titled
"Democracy," where either nominee will not make any real effort to
constrict corporate interests. So I'm a Liberal, preferably truly
Democratic in a sense that i liked what a real Democracy, not like the
party but the real thing.
C) I am involved in plenty of issues, but in a sense that I want to
see more peace in the middle-east, less oil addiction, more repeals of
acts that are unconstitutional and evil, less supposed restrictions on
real people and more restrictions, even repossession of corporate
crap. Next time you watch the news, look at how the distraction works.
Look around for those lines we are taught that divide us from each
other. These lines seek only to divide and conquer, to ostracize and
work to death, the people who believe in it.
D) I am not religious. I've spent time reading Marx, and have read a
lot into the Thomas Jefferson ideology, and I have become compelled to
want what was originally intended for man. It is important for the
survival of a habitable planet to maintain clean energy, sanitation,
population control, no poverty, and no valueless currency. Morality
doesn't mean religion, and logic is a great start at realizing
whatever truth you want to find. Liberal is technically what people
call me, besides crazy.

D.C. will make progress over the next year on the most important
problems facing the country: a lot of confidence, some confidence, not

besides the last question i see a good way of finding out the general

I personally believe that the Space Program should be regarded more as
something veiled by other interests, since the Cold War was an excuse
to steal a lot of money going to "nuclear arms" races and work to make
advances past our society's keyhole. Who really knows where we are
elsewhere and what we've done. So, even though it could be possible
that none of what I've read into is correct, and that space is really
void of human activity, it seems like a dark corner of our governments
spending, simply justified first as a race. Its not the worst thing to
have, and in all, it definitely would not be good to allow it to be
privatized(that's the way the government stops things, by selling them
out).

education must be seen as a way to make a profession for that
individual to go through. It should stay out of corporate hands, and
needs to be seen as a more valuable tool. It should teach differently,
and should promote a want to learn, instead of repetitious materials.
Then teachers should be paid more and be closely monitored for
psychological deviance, and violent behavior.

A)Number results Economic Left/Right: -2.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.59
B)Do you consider yourself Liberal, conservative, populist or

C)What issues matter most to you? abortion and gay rights.
D)How were your political beliefs formed? growing up seeing how things were and also my parents.

"In general, do you support or oppose the new federal requirement that private health insurance plans cover the full cost of birth control and other preventive services for their female patients?"

Oppose: 24%

i support abortion because people may have been raped or the baby could have something terribly wrong with him/her and it could be effecting the mother, and may cause the mother to die as well..

"Do you think abortion should be legal in all cases, legal in most cases, illegal in most cases, or illegal in all cases?"

i think it should be legal in most cases because like i said the mother may have something wrong with the baby that is causing her to die as well.

"With respect to the abortion issue, would you consider yourself to be pro-choice or pro-life?"

i would say pro-choice only because women should have the right to do what they want to do. I just hope they have a good enough reason to do what they are doing..

A) -2.45, .65
B) I think that i would consider myself to be in the ranges of a
liberal.
C) To me the most important issues would be education and and laws
that would directed to my race.
D) My political beliefs were formed mainly through personal experience
and how the media portrays each party and their actions.

The questions asked on this poll are very adequate for what they are

I am also disappointed that it is going to end because america could
have accomplished soo much more with the space program.

I oppose the government cutting off federal funding to Planned
Parenthood because they do not only perform abortions there.

Part 1

A) Economic Left/Right: -3.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.05
B) I consider myself as liberal.
C) Some of the issues that matter to me are health care, gay rights,
the economy, and equal rights. The issues that mainly matter to me are
the issues that involve helping the needy and equal rights.
D) My political beliefs were formed from how i grew up, what has
happened in the past with government issues, and what i have seen and
heard about different issues today.

Part 2

"Do you favor or oppose permitting homosexuals to serve in the
military? Do you favor/oppose that strongly or not so strongly?"

2/9-11/93 21

I strongly favor that homosexuals should be permitted to serve in the
military because there is absolutely nothing different from them and
the people that are in the military serving right now. I beilieve that
this question is adequate to what the poll is trying to determine
because the question is not confusing or misleading at all.

Do you favor or oppose permitting homosexuals to serve in the
military?" If favor: "What if they openly announce their sexual
orientation? In that case would you favor or oppose permitting
homosexuals to serve in the military?"

Favor Oppose Unsure
% % %

If they have the guts to openly announce their sexual orientation then
nobody should question whether or not they are applicable to serve in
the military.
Sexual Orientation should not matter because they are out in the world
protecting our country for us and doing a job that we aren't able to
do and we should be proud of what they are doing for us.

"Some people say that not allowing openly gay men and women to serve
in the military is discrimination. Do you agree or disagree?"

Agree Disagree Unsure
% % %
2/2-8/10 66 31 3

Not allowing gay men and women serve in the military is discrimination
becuase they are here to help defend our country and there is
absolutely no difference in homosexual people and straight people.
They are all the same, therefore they should not get discriminated
against. "All men are created equal," that should apply equal rights
for everyone not just certain people. This question was adequate
because the question wasn't misleading or lacking information.

Bucks Poll Question:
"How do you feel about the U.S. space shuttle program coming to an
end? Are you pleased, disappointed, or don't you care much one way or
the other?"
I am very disappointed about the U.S. space shuttle program coming to
an end because we have worked so hard to discover new things about
many of the other planets and space. We came such a long way to just
bring the program to an end and we still have many other things to
discover.

Bridget's Poll Question:
"As far as you know, do you think, on average, public school teachers
in this country are paid too much, too little, or about the right
amount?"
I believe that teachers are paid too little because they put so much
time into what they do. They have to prepare lessons to teach, stay
after school for tutoring, and spend lots of time grading papers at
home because they have so many other things to do during the day.
