FYI, looks like the price is nice.  I'm skeptical of most machine learning, mostly because of my own ignorance. Might be a nice into. I used to be skeptical of GAMs, until the ASA workshop by Simon Wood, and now I use them for almost everything.

Hui Lin (Google) and Ming Li (Amazon).  The course will be offered virtually (on Zoom) on two consecutive half-days:  July 23-24, 2021, from 1:00-4:30pm.  Students, post-docs, and NV-ASA chapter members will pay $40; all others $50.  Please see the attached flyer for details and registration link. We welcome attendees from other District 6 chapters, though we don't want to compete with other chapters who were awarded the same course.  At your discretion then, please consider making your members aware of our offering.  We would appreciate it!
