The Division of Sport Fish at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game is currently seeking a biometrician to join our team in Anchorage, Fairbanks, or Juneau office. The position is flexibly staffed at Biometrician 1/2/3 level. The recruitment is open to all applicants and will close on September 16, 2024.
This position will play a critical role in ensuring the statistical and biometric integrity of our research projects. Key responsibilities include study design and determination of appropriate sample sizes and expected precision, data analysis using both classical and Bayesian statistical methods, and co-authoring of operational plans and reports. The successful candidate will work closely with regional fisheries managers and research project leaders to meet both research and management objectives.
