Dear AKBC 2026 Organizing Committee,
I hope this email finds you well.
My name is Shiva Ahir, and I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Stony Brook University (SUNY), USA. I am writing to express my interest in serving as a reviewer for AKBC 2026, Automated Knowledge Base Construction, taking place in Budapest.
My research lies at the intersection of Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models, reasoning, information extraction, knowledge extraction, multilingual and cross-lingual NLP, and AI systems. Given AKBC's focus on automated methods for constructing, reasoning over, and utilizing knowledge bases, I would be delighted to contribute to the peer-review process.
I have previous experience serving the research community in reviewer, judging, and organizing roles, including:
Session Chair & Reviewer, International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN 2026)
Reviewer, SPAR-3D Workshop at CVPR 2026
Reviewer, ACM TODAES
Reviewer, 2nd BabyLM Workshop
Reviewer, PlurVA-LLM @ AACL 2026
Judge, IEEE Xtreme 12.0 Hackathon
Through these experiences, I have evaluated research across machine learning, NLP, LLMs, neural networks, AI systems, and related areas. As a Ph.D. researcher, I regularly work on NLP and LLM-based systems involving reasoning, semantic understanding, structured information extraction, multilingual and cross-lingual analysis, and evaluation methodologies.
I believe my background aligns particularly well with AKBC's interest in information and knowledge extraction, representation, reasoning, and the use of modern language models for building and utilizing structured knowledge.
I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to contribute as a reviewer for AKBC 2026. I would be happy to provide my CV, Google Scholar profile, ORCID, or any other information that may assist in your decision.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Shiva Ahir

Sure, Additionally, if there is an opportunity, I would be delighted to participate as a speaker or keynote speaker and present my research and recent work to the workshop audience.
I would be glad to contribute in both capacities and support the workshop in any way that would be helpful. I spoke in Los Angeles once at UCLA, and once in the Netherlands at IJCNN 2026.
Thank you for considering me, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Shiva
