Akara is the data services engine for the Freemix project my company
recently launched in limited beta. We tag it "Social networking for
data. Slice it, Show it, Share it." It's a way to share, annotate and
present information in a collaborative setting.

Akara is also the data services platform for several client projects,

This work is presently in a closed pilot for the 180+ NDIIPP program
partners (including governments, libraries, research institutions and
more across the US, and some abroad) The public should start to see it
in action later on this year.
I presented on a lot of this stuff at the recent Semantic tech
conference, to very good response. I had a 30 minute presentation on
