July Meeting

  Friday, July 11th @ 6:00PM (since the first Friday is 🇺🇸 Independence Day)

  UAA, Professional Studies Building, Room 122B

  2533 Providence Dr. 

This month, our presenter will be Ryan Evans, a PCA Agency Program Coordinator from Consumer Direct AK, a PCA agency here in Anchorage. Not only will he be sharing about the services his company can provide, but also about the PCA hour cuts many are experiencing as Medicaid processes them. He will go over what might factor into a decrease in PCA hours and how you can handle it if it happens to you. 

Until recently, my PCA hours I was given averaged to be about 7.5 hours a day over the course of a 7-day week. After Medicaid made changes bases on regulation changes, i experienced an hour loss approximately equal to a full day's worth of hours, which now total at 45 hours a week. I will go over how, with Ryan's help, we are working on getting back about 90% of those hours back. Join us as we will answer any questions you may have, as I am sure this topic will be greatly beneficial to many of you, both currently with and without PCA services. 

July BBQ

Saturday, July 26th @ 2:00PM

We had recently planned to hold a BBQ this past weekend, which unfortunately fell through last minute. The good news is we plan to have one anyway, at the end of this month. The BBQ will be on Saturday, July 26th @ 2:00PM at the Piraino's home. There will be more details to come, and I'm sure we'll go over it at the meeting before the bbq. Let me know If theres a dish or something you can bring to help.
