As Steve from Kodiak mentioned, PowerData Solutions is a good place to look for useful customizations.

I have used the Custom Report Bundle they make in both PS6 and PS7.  To be honest I only used a couple of the reports in that bundle, and now I only use one, the Gradebook verification report.  I have the sites run that report to check to make sure all teachers are verified before we store grades.

Anyone out there have a good report they've found in the PDS Custom Report Bundle?

Or maybe there is another customization that you've found and now can't live without?  Anyone used their Enhanced Parent Portal?

I really like the Entrance/ Exit report in the Custom Report bundle.  I use this report at the end of every month to verify that our students that were transferred have all the correct records requests sent and received (we put this information in our comment boxes).  Also let me double check that we have not coded anyone incorrectly.  I have uploaded my instructions for this report. See attached.

The other report that can be useful, though I have not used it a ton, is the Verify All Information.  For staff that need to change or review fields but are not comfortable with field value changes or import exports, this is a great tool.  I have also attached a hand out for this. 

I would love to hear what other are using. PowerData Solutions is a wonderful site.

Another tool that I could not live without from this site is the Enhanced Parent Portal.  We could not have gone to Single Sign on with out this as every school has a different philosophy on what parents should see.  This was a life saver for me!

Tried the Field Verification Report, it said 'Data Tables warning: Requested unknown parameter '1' from the data source for row 0.  Then I tried it with the current selection, and it worked.  So maybe it must only work with the current selection, not all students?

I used it to fix a home_phone, it gave me a weird error message, but then it worked.  I like your idea of using that instead of letting people do a field value change.
