It’s taken almost two years now, but we’ve successfully completed the handoff of the Suspension & Expulsion customization we started at ASTE 2016. Once the latest State Reporting release is installed (released on 9/1/17), you’ll see it when looking at students.

This initial release is rather bare-bones, however, there are some improvements in the works:
• Dynamic fields - certain fields will be hidden until you make a selection on the page that indicates they’re needed.
• Suspension/Expulsion report generated automatically.

I’ve already identified a couple of bugs and have reported them:
• If you have done all of state reporting Legacy Custom Field migrations, all of your existing log entries will show up on the suspension/reporting page.
• The discipline modified field is set as an integer instead of a double, preventing you from entering half days (i.e. 1.5 days is an invalid entry).

We’re hoping down the line (either through state reporting or as an AKPSUG customization) to support a button to print a form letter based upon data in the log entry.

Here’s what it looks like right now:

I’ve found and reported another bug:

The non-weapons description drop-down is missing the changes made in last year’s collection.

Code 10 now reads: Bullying, Harassment, Intimidation, and Cyberbulling
Code 16 now reads: Tobacco/e-Cigarettes/Vapor cigarettes
Code 28 is new: Attendance related (Tardy, Truancy)
Code 29 is new: Vandalism
Code 30 is new: Dangerous Actions/Unsafe Behaviors not otherwise listed

Kyle, I’ve never heard of a state reporting Legacy Custom Field migration for log entries. What needs to be done?

A couple years ago, PowerSchool changed the way custom fields (including the ones they have created) worked. As part of this, every district needs to complete the migration process.

If you want to use PowerSchool's state reporting, you have to do this for the ones that contain AK in the name.

System Settings -> Page and Data Management -> Custom Field Data Migration.

The only one you don't have to do at this point (and I would recommend not doing it without planning) is the User_Created_Custom_Fields
