One of the upcoming changes for the Summer OASIS is how the graduation cohort will be collected. It will now be in the format of ‘first year in ninth grade’ entered as ‘yyyy-yyyy’. Previously, it was collected as the 4-digit year of graduation. But for those of you who have been around long enough will remember cohort was first collected was a Y/N field in the 2010 Summer OASIS 😂
In thinking about how to keep track of graduation cohort, a debate has come up about whether to set it by hand or let PowerSchool calculate it by looking at enrollment records.
Do you track graduation cohort by entering the first year in 9th grade on the State/Province page, or do you leave that field blank and let the report calculate it for you and fill it in by hand for any transfer students who
weren’t enrolled with you for 9th grade?
