Hi Braintrust,

I'm sharing this out in case it's going to affect how your district is handling IRIPs like it does mine.
We recently discovered that mClass percentages displayed to teachers are percentile ranks in the district. The only place to find this explanation, which means no one has, is in the help documentation. This has led to us to realize that we could be misclassifying students and the level of help they need.

I've attached a screenshot of the scores page as it's shown to teachers in mClass, the relevant section of the help documentation, and a snippet showing column AU is National Data.

To be extra clear - If you're using Kyle's IRIP plugin to import data into Powerschool, then your data in Powerschool is correct. His creation imports the National Percentile (Column AU in the data export).

Our administration has reached out to the state and made them aware of this. For now, we're recommending our teachers use the scores in the IRIP itself when determining if students are in the bottom 20%.

Feel free to reach out if I need to clarify anything further,
