to ajm objects
New version: http://compusition.com/ajm-objects/ajm-objects-0.9b3.zip

There are a *lot* of changes since beta 1 (sorry for not announcing
beta2 - I was testing and working through some issues). I made some
tough decisions and decided to break some backward compatibility in
order to make significant improvements to the object that I've been
thinking about for a long time.

I'll eventually make some "upgrade notes" but for now please take a
look at included CHANGELOG
file, the new updated help file, and ask questions.

Please help me test a few things:

* Windows users: Does double-clicking the object open the ruby file in
your text editor? If not, do you get an error, or does it open in the
wrong program? If the program is wrong, is it the same program that
opens if you double-click a ".rb" file in Windows Explorer? (Note that
soon I plan to add an option to specify a specific external editor you
want to use)

* For anyone who has had trouble converting Max messages to valid Ruby
code, please take a look at the @symbols_to section of the "advanced
topics" in the help patch, and let me know if you find this feature
useful. Does this feature make sense or is it too complicated? I've
attempted many solutions to this problem over the past year and this
is the best compromise I could find between flexibility and
convenience.

* If you don't see useful error messages when a script fails to run,
let me know!

PS - Longer term plans are to pull out ajm.ruby as a single object
'jruby'. I would like to focus on supporting just that one object. I
am currently using ajm.ruby as a testbed to try out new ideas (hence
some of the backward compatibility issues). In a few weeks/months when
things are stable, I will release a jruby object and try to keep it
backward compatible from that point on.
