Hi All,

Came across this mail, thought will forward this , cos i liked the idea of each contributing min 1,000 p.a. We guys were pondering on the idea of pooling some money for the school but now it seems to be gathering dust, the purpose of this mail is to start with a simple contribution and commitment, and use it .

The idea of the juniors hold some water and may be we can replicate the ideas.

Now share some thoughts , and i hope that it just does not remain as thoughts , if we are serious then let us be or else lets not talk about it.

i would appreciate if you guys start giving feed backs and we start at a right note. Think it over this does not seem steep.

AND WAKE UP SMELL THE COFFEE...

Dear Ajeets

Before I come to the actual topic/subject, today, I wish to inform or rather reveal something that we all from Ajeets 97-04 Batch have been practicing for a couple of years now

The Ajeets 97-04 Welfare Fund

It is a pool of contributions made by us all (Ajeets of 1997-2004 batch)
Everyone contributes at least Rs 1000 per ANNUM to the fund
Batch strength - 54+ those who left school early - 40 to 50 people
We have gathered about 60-70 people who are a part of this initiative
Last year, the donations totaled to about Rs 40000
This year, we expect it to reach Rs 1 lac as everyone is planning to increase the contribution
We use this fund for needs of our batchmates. For example, one of our batchmate's father was in a medical emergency & we helped him. One of us took it buy something. One of us took to pay credit card bill. And some other purposes
It works on a interest free loan model
Everyone who takes the money returns it as soon as their financial status returns to stable

While the first objective of the fund is to self help our batchmates, our second objective was to help all Ajeets irrespective of batch, house or whatever. And third objective was to help society in case the fund can reach higher amount

This is kind of a Self Help Group model that we operate up on

The whole purpose of sharing this is to put before you all the very well known fact that we are very closely knit as batches. And operating on the batches model can work larger wonders than the entire association model or the chapter model. Give a thought..

In 3 years time, perhaps, such funds by batches might have balances which many chapters would not have been able to build in a very long time

Finally, I also would wish to inform that as a part of fulfilling our second objective of offering support to all Ajeets, we have decided that we shall be contributing Rs 25000 (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand) towards the medical expenses of Sri Shivayogayya Torgalmath. Its a small amount considering the high expenditure involved. But, we are in a new beginning..

PS: All batches. Give a thought. Just 1000 rupees a YEAR. Batches 5 years senior to our batch can easily make it 5000 rupees a year. Batches 15-20 years senior can easily make it Rs 10000 a year. Even considering Rs 1000 a year would mean Rs 50000 per batch per annum. In 10 years, it will be Rs 5 lacs. Considering 40 batches, we shall have 2 crores. I am not proposing a business. I am only showing you a possibility of creating a self help group for yourselves. You don't need to even involve others. Just Do It Yourselves..!!
