Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure—primarily within AWS and Azure environments. This role requires deep expertise in cloud security architecture, automation, and operational excellence, with an emphasis on aligning with industry-standard compliance frameworks.
You will collaborate closely with Security Operations teams to enhance security monitoring, incident response capabilities, and deploy enterprise-grade cloud security solutions. Experience working with state and local government clients and a strong understanding of compliance standards is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deploy secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure and applications in AWS and Azure environments.
Develop automation solutions and security accelerators to support cloud security initiatives.
l Collaborate with Security Operations teams to build and manage SIEM, SOAR, and XDR platforms.
l Troubleshoot and resolve configuration and security issues in development, testing, and production environments.
l Implement logging, monitoring, and auditing solutions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as NIST, HIPAA, PCI, SOX, CMMC, PII, and CUI.
l Design and implement Zero Trust cloud security architectures.
l Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including deployment configurations, incident reports, and system architecture diagrams.
l Engage with public sector clients, ensuring alignment with their unique regulatory and operational needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
l 5–10 years of experience in Information Security and Cloud Engineering.
l Proven experience designing and maintaining infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
l Hands-on experience with cloud security architecture, operations, and automation.
l Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
l Ability to produce clear, detailed documentation for security tools, configurations, and procedures.
l Experience with compliance and governance frameworks (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, PCI, SOX).
l Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
l Active AWS or Azure certification is required.
l Experience deploying and managing Palo Alto VM-Series Firewalls in cloud environments.
l Hands-on knowledge of Prisma Cloud, Forescout, Cisco Umbrella, and F5 solutions.
l Familiarity with security best practices for state and local government environments.
l Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
l Active AWS or Azure certification is required.
