Title: Data Mapping Analyst
Location: Raleigh//Phoenix/ Remote

Descriptions:
• System Data Analysis & Mapping
• Lead end-to-end data mapping initiatives for system integrations, migrations, and ETL processes
• Analyze source and target data structures to identify relationships, dependencies, and transformation
requirements
• Create comprehensive data mapping documentation including field-level specifications, transformation
rules, and business logic
• Develop data lineage diagrams and data flow documentation to ensure traceability
• Conduct data profiling and quality assessment to identify anomalies, gaps, and inconsistencies
• Define data validation rules and acceptance criteria for data migration and integration projects
• Collaborate with data engineers and developers to ensure accurate implementation of mapping specifications
• SQL Development & Analysis
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data across multiple databases
• Develop stored procedures, views, and scripts to support data analysis and reporting needs
• Perform data reconciliation and validation using SQL to ensure data integrity post-migration
• Optimize SQL queries for performance and efficiency
• Conduct root cause analysis using SQL to troubleshoot data issues and discrepancies
• Create ad-hoc reports and data extracts to support business intelligence and decision-making
• Support database design reviews and provide input on data model optimization
• Business Analysis
• Elicit, document, and validate business requirements through interviews, workshops, and process analysis
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and technical user stories
• Create detailed process flow diagrams, use cases, and business requirement documents (BRDs)
• Facilitate requirements review sessions with stakeholders and technical teams
• Conduct gap analysis between current state and future state data architectures
• Support UAT planning, test case development, and defect triage
• Serve as liaison between business stakeholders and technical development teams
• Stakeholder Collaboration
• Partner with cross-functional teams including IT, data engineering, business operations, and vendors
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders at all levels
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project scope and deliverables
• Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to gather requirements and resolve issues
• Provide training and documentation to end-users on new systems and data processes
• Required Qualifications
• Technical Skills
• Advanced SQL proficiency including:
• Complex joins (inner, outer, cross, self-joins)
• Subqueries, CTEs (Common Table Expressions), and window functions
• Aggregate functions, grouping, and pivoting data
• Query optimization and performance tuning
• Stored procedures, triggers, and views
• Data mapping expertise including:
• Source-to-target mapping documentation
• Data transformation logic definition
• ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process design
• Data quality and validation rules
• Master data management concepts
• Database knowledge:
• Relational database concepts and normalization
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
• Understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus
• Business Analysis Skills
• 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst
• Strong requirements elicitation and documentation skills
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence)
• Proven ability to create process flows, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications
• Experience with UAT coordination, test case development, and defect management
• Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices
