Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Ruby and Ruby on Rails, experience building RESTful APIs, and a solid understanding of modern software development practices, cloud technologies, and database design.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain robust web applications using Ruby on Rails.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.
• Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable backend solutions following MVC
architecture principles.
• Design and optimize relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Implement and maintain background job processing using Sidekiq, Resque, or
similar tools.
• Develop efficient ActiveRecord models, database queries, and migrations.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement caching solutions using Redis and/or Memcached.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, QA Engineers, DevOps teams, and other
stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architectural
decisions.
• Write automated tests and maintain high code quality standards.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Strong understanding of Ruby programming concepts and Rails framework internals.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of MVC architecture and object-oriented programming
principles.
• Hands-on experience with ActiveRecord and relational database design.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Experience with Sidekiq, Resque, or similar background job frameworks.
• Experience with Redis and caching strategies.
• Proficiency with Git and modern version control practices.
• Experience writing automated tests using RSpec, Capybara, Minitest, or
similar frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with GraphQL.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Experience working with microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native application development.

Preferred Candidate Profile
We are looking for a developer whose primary expertise is Ruby on Rails and who has substantial experience building, scaling, and maintaining production-grade Rails applications.
