sub-domain and phpbb3-users?

I want to add ajax-chat to a subdomain (like http://chat.mydomain.com)

However, I have also a phpbb3-installation running on http://mydomain.com

I don't want my chat integrated onto my forum, but want to use the same users

Is it possible to use the logins of my phpbb3 forum, in my subdomain? And if yes, how?

So long as you point the configuration file at your database, ajaxchat will be able to use your current users. If you don't want the chat automatically grabbing all of the Forum's channels, you can disable it in the channel configuration.
