Intergrating AJAX Chat with Ruby

Hey guys, 

So I'm trying to reduce server load by using Ruby on Rails. For some reason, users will only see new messages if they type a message in themselves. Does anyone have any idea why this might be?

I assume you're talking about the socket server, which I don't think uses the rails framework, just straight ruby.

Development on that stopped a while ago. What's happening is that your user's clients aren't receiving push notifications, which is kind of the point of the server. In other words, it's not working. You may have luck finding someone who has gotten it working though, I hear stories of such miracles.
