Since we recently found out you are still around. Is this software going to be continued by you? Or is 0.8.7-8 is considered final?

0.8.8 is ready and was only hung up on my absence, since I was unable to test it on all the different forums we support. The biggest issue that needs to be addressed right now, imo, is phpbb 3.1 compatibility.
As I finally upgraded my own phpbb forum to 3.1 I can look into that issue.
I expect 0.8.8 will be the last release of ajax chat as you know it. The code is very old, and while it has proven to be very robust, it needs to be overhauled. A lot has changed over the years.

Sounds good. Then ill look into making my admin package compatible with it.
