PHP 3.1.x Integration

Are there any updates on getting AJAX 0.8.8 to work with PHPBB 3.1.x. It's been months since we heard from the developer about working on this issue. Is this still being worked on? Is it a lost hope? I'd rather have AJAX chat with PHPBB 3.1.x than the standalone, but if it's not going to happen, it would be helpful to know so that I'm not hoping for something that's been given up on.

it will be ready before today ends. This was a pain in the ass to figure out their menu structure and system variables. Expect some file editing. its not alot btw.
