Get ready for a creepy wooden mannequin to invade your nightmares when Oddity releases in theaters on July 19, 2024. Watch the brand new official trailer from IFC Films below.

In Oddity, When Dani is brutally murdered at the remote country house that she and her husband Ted are renovating, everyone suspects a patient from the local mental health institution, where Ted is a doctor. However, soon after the killing, the suspect is found dead.

While we wait for news on casting and plot, one thing is clear: Nash and prosthetic effects lead Steven Kostanski (Psycho Goreman, The Void) will have the tough task of finding new ways to top that epic centerpiece kill.

Welcome to the chilling world of Mannequin, a virtual reality game that invites you to step into a universe where the boundaries between reality and nightmares blur. Crafted by the acclaimed developers at Fast Travel Games, this trailer offers just a glimpse into the horror and mystery you will experience.

Mannequin pushes the limits of VR technology, immersing players in an environment that's as eerie as it is captivating. As you navigate through the game, every shadow and sound holds a secret waiting to be uncovered. Will you dare to unveil the truth hidden behind the mannequins?

Hey, fancy doing something unpleasant for the next ten minutes? Download Mannequin for free, a new little horror game. I don't think it's ruining any surprise to tell you that it's one of those games with horrible, horrible mannequins which can move when you're not looking. I hate this type of monster! It's a very good type of monster! And I hate it! And this little game is a decent one of these. So that's a short bit of fun for you.

I like it! The game is built mostly from familiar parts (I'm leaving one a surprise) and a little technically janky (struttering nastily for me at times) but it executes the idea plenty well enough. It looks fine, it ends before it wears out its welcome, and the voice acting was a surprise bonus. Here's something terrible to enjoy a few minutes, have fun! I was perfectly happy with that. I played in a sunny room with my window open to the busy street outside yet was focused on this horrible experience and very happily unhappy with it, jumping and swearing at every noise.

Hie thee to Itch.io to download Mannequin for Windows. It's pay-what-you-want with no minimum. It's made by Elvis Medeiros and Ivan Garcia F. with voice acting from Thas de vila. It does have a clear ending, mind, and will make you restart if you, ah, fail to reach it.

I really enjoy hating encountering this sort of 'only moves when you cannot see them' monster. They're probably best known in games from jumpscare 'em ups like Five Nights at Freddy's, and in pop culture at large as Doctor Who's Weeping Angels. I've been unhappy to start encountering them more in mainstream big-budget games. Ghostwire: Tokyo recently added a new mission with a horrible, horrible human anatomy mannequin lurking in a school. I hate him! And Resident Evil Village's Shadow Of Rose expansion had a horrible, horrible doll stalking you, with the absolutely horrible discovery that no, several of them are after you at once. I hate them! I hate them all because it's such a good monster type.

It's a simple trick yet wildly unnerving, and leaves lingering fears once you close the game and head back out into the world. Surely the mannequins watching you shop aren't alive. Surely nothing would happen if you went shopping after work. And absolutely you'll always be fine around those dolls in your aunt's house.

Jonathan Switcher (McCarthy) has certainly been living up to his name. A frustrated artist, he switches from one dead-end job to another, never managing to hold on to any of them. But all of that changes when a mannequin he created for a department store window comes magically to life! Gorgeous and statuesque, this fiberglass femme fatale (Cattrall) helps Jonathan turn his career around, inspiring him to be the best window dresser in town. Bu she soon discovers that the real world isn't so easy, when they run into competitors who want to put them out of business - for good!

It was like someone had lit a Molotov cocktail and threw it into a pit of firecrackers on the Union Transfer floor the second Pinkshift ripped into their first song. The Baltimore five piece understood the assignment, they performed with such ferocity you would think they mastered live music. Pinkshift was having an amazing time and it showed.

This U.S. tour, which spanned over a month and a half, just about came to a close last night (they play the final date tonight at Bowery Ballroom). Missy took several opportunities to thank Pinkshift and Angel Du$t not only for being on the road with them but for loaning their equipment to Mannequin Pussy after their van and trailer were stolen.

Black Ops 6, the latest military first-person shooter to roll along the Call of Duty conveyor belt, has graced us with another teaser trailer. Like the first teaser which dropped last week, the video is comprised mostly of live-action footage. But there does appear to be at least one, tiny, snippet of gameplay footage in there, and it suggests that we're in for a pretty weird time.

Titled "Open Your Eyes", the trailer is mostly formed from VHS archive clips of various early nineties' artifacts, including Bill Clinton playing the saxophone, and an advert for the 'Chia Pet' terracotta figurines (not to be confused with Tchia, the lovely Breath of the Wild-lite video game that released a couple of years back), all while a distorted male voice talks to the viewer directly. It's clearly going for an analogue horror vibe, with wilfully grainy footage and rapid cuts to more psychedelic imagery.

It's in one such cut that we see what looks like proper gameplay footage. It appears at the 1:09 mark in the video, although you'll still need to be quick on the left mouse button to pause the video at the right moment. If you succeed, you'll see what appears to be a pinkish mannequin wrestling with the player, viewed from a first person perspective. The footage is so short and grainy it's hard to be 100% certain, but the way the camera moves looks very video-gamey.

There's another clip, just before this, of real-life mannequins being burned, so together they suggest inanimate, life-size dolls are going to be something of a theme. The original Black Ops, which was set in the sixties, played heavily on ideas of psychological conditioning and brainwashing, inspired by real-life events like the CIA's MKUltra program. Clips like this, combined with the general tone of the trailer, suggest Treyarch might be returning to Black Ops' roots.

This isn't the only suggestive snippet of Black Ops 6 to appear online recently. YouTuber Noah J received a package from Treyarch which included a longer version of this trailer, which right at the end showed footage of what appears to be a Zombies mode. The clip, which again was less than a second long, showed a character sliding along the ground while a zombie-like monster appears in frame from the right.

Frankly, it would be more surprising if Black Ops 6 didn't have zombies. It was comfortably the best thing about the deeply mediocre Modern Warfare 3, which was rushed out right after Activision said they'd be taking more time with developing Call of Duty games. That said, Black Ops 6 has been in the pipeline for four years, with Black Ops: Cold War launching back in 2020. So maybe, just maybe, it'll be better than the more recent output from Activision's cluster of Call of Duty studios. Either way, we'll find out more at Microsoft's Xbox Showcase on June 9.

Mannequin is a 1987 American romantic comedy fantasy film starring Andrew McCarthy, Kim Cattrall, Meshach Taylor, James Spader, G. W. Bailey, and Estelle Getty. Directed and written by Michael Gottlieb, the film was also co-written by Edward Rugoff. The original music score was composed by Sylvester Levay.

Jonathan Switcher is a young artist who builds a mannequin. He makes it so perfect, he falls in love with it. It is the first thing he has made that makes him feel like a real artist. The mannequin ends up in the window of a big department store. When he saves the life of the owner of that store, he is rewarded by getting a job at the store. Later the mannequin comes to life as Emmy, who was an ancient Egyptian living in the year 2514BC. The two redesign the window display to make it the most eye catching in town. The store competitors are not happy and will do anything to stop them.

The Mannequins are gray humanoid beings, specifically resembling artist's mannequins. They appear at the beginning of Temptation Stairway as well as in the Stairway Void, Hourglass Meadow, and Mannequin Expanse building.

There is one specific Mannequin seen near the beginning of Temptation Stairway that has a different appearance than the other Mannequins seen in the episode. After Ena talks with the Merchant, this Mannequin absorbs The Great Runas. They wear a light blue dress and have black hair. They have a single orange eye on their face, though after absorbing Ena alongside The Great Runas, the eye becomes fully black.

The Mannequins appear often throughout Temptation Stairway. They predominantly appear in the beginning of the episode in large crowds. The Mannequins can be found climbing the legs of The Great Runas, dancing together, and even climbing on top of each other in an attempt to reach The Great Runas. They seem to be capable of speech, though whatever they say sounds corrupted and garbled, as heard at the beginning of Temptation Stairway and during the Runas chase scene.

The Mannequins also appear in other areas within The Great Runas's residence. They appear in the Mannequin Expanse, bowing down. Some corpses of Mannequins can also be found in the field and code sections of the Hourglass Meadow as well as in the Stairway Void before Ena enters the area containing Ulysses. A single dressed Mannequin that does not interact with Ena also appears in the Stairway Void.
