Newsletter sponsorships are still a very nascent marketing strategy for SaaS companies.
So when I saw this tweet from Rows founder Henrique Cruz, I was shocked at just how well it worked.
I'm 99% certain that this is the newsletter edition Rows sponsored:
Since Packy publicly shows how many newsletter subscribers he has each time he publishes, this makes it easy to go back and see what kind of numbers we're working with.
I'm also 99% certain that this particular newsletter was one of the more popular editions the entire year, so that also helps.
Let's see the ad that drove 500 accounts from ~47k subscribers for a conversion rate of ~1%:
Packy has a truly unique style of communication. He loves to use super conversational language, memes, and is not afraid to be a bit long-winded.
But he did a great job of selling Rows here.
It's no surprise it worked so well.
Now, I'm not sure if Henrique means free or paid customers for Rows when he says "500 new accounts" but if we assume he meant paid customers at their starting price of $59/mo, that's just about $30k MRR. π³
