The meeting lasted a little over an hour. Participants paid tribute to Prof. Alastair M. North who recently passed away in Thailand. Prof. Singh recalled his memories and described him as a good leader for AIT. Prof. North was tough but at the same time he was very successful in working together with a cross functional team. Dr. Jay, Dr. Sushil and Sanjeev shared their experiences interacting with Prof. North. It is obvious that he would live in our hearts for a long time. May God rest him in peace.
It was early morning (7 am) in Bangkok but we were happy to see our friends from AIT, Kyawt, Sirikate and Sanjeev. At my request, Sanjeev provided an overview of AIT’s fundraising campaign for $3 million US dollars in scholarship, smart classrooms, laboratory upgrade, students dorms, library and other areas. Attached is the copy of the presentation. Donation to AIT is tax deductible as AIT is partnered with a 501 c(3) organization to collect fund. We will meet next week to discuss AIT's fundraising campaign in detail and identify the areas for the US Chapter to be engaged effectively in raising funds. As we all are working home safely, please consider donating to AIT.
Next meeting is on Thursday, July 16 at 8 pm New York Time (7 pm Chicago). Hope to see you everyone.
