Dear Fred,
Make plans to join us for an exciting Community Service Day on February 10th! You can choose from five fun projects, ranging from helping those with special needs to providing for the hungry to honoring our military—and there are opportunities for volunteers of all ages!
Here’s how you can help our Federation engage with the community:
-
Spruce up the Friendship Circle of Los Angeles’ campus (for Jewish children and teens with special needs). Decorate bulletin boards in hallways and classrooms, and help prepare their annual Purim Party—the perfect option for Inclusion Awareness Month!
-
Help Food Forward pick fresh produce from local trees for L.A.-based food pantries.
-
Share lunch with some of our National Guard Forces at the training base in Los Alamitos, take a tour, and learn how they help keep us safe.
-
Join YALA (volunteers ages 25-40 only) to assemble personalized Purim gift baskets for Jewish veterans.
-
Teens in our community can participate in an array of service activities through Sherut L’Olam’s Super Service Sunday.
Whether you’re picking oranges or helping promote an inclusive community, our February Community Service Day is sure to leave you with great memories and a sense of pride. Plus, it’s also The Jewish Federation’s Super Sunday—so what better day to get involved and give back?
All the best,
Neuriel Shore
