Hi, I tried it out, it looks really good. It is way better than the official app for Apple TV. Using the official app is terrible without a touch screen!

Just two things to note:

1) I could not get the shuffle/random to work.
I would select that option like I do in the client on Apple TV and it always just plays the first song.  If I do it on Apple TV it actually gives me a random song.

2) The 7 song limit for testing is frustrating. Is there any way to remove it? Like pledge a purchase when it is finally released?

Thanks
Serenity/Jessica

Hi Serenity/Jessica,

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm absolutely thrilled to hear that you're enjoying the app and find it much easier to use than the official version.

Regarding the points you raised:

1. Shuffle / Random Issue

I want to make sure I understand exactly how the shuffle feature is misbehaving so I can get it patched. Could you clarify which shuffle option you are selecting?

  • Are you triggering the shuffle from the button on the album/playlist detail screen?

  • Or are you using the shuffle toggle inside the Now Playing screen?

If you could briefly contrast how it behaves on the official Apple TV app versus what is currently happening in AirTune, I'll dive into the logic and fix it as soon as possible.

2. The 7-Song Limit & Promo Code

You are completely right—having a song limit during a beta test is frustrating. The reason this limit exists is because this beta version shares the same background settings as the live app currently on the Play Store (AirTune Music: TV Player). If I raise the limit for the beta, it changes for everyone on the live app too.

To fix this for you (and anyone else reading this thread), I have generated a promo code just for closed beta app that will give you a 15-day Pro membership completely free.

⚠️ A quick heads-up on how this works: Please remember to cancel the subscription before the 15-day promotional period ends if you do not want to be charged. Alternatively, if everything works out smoothly, you can just leave it active. This beta app is actually intended to completely replace the current store version.

Why it is only 15-day and Why are there two different versions right now?

The current live app (AirTune Music: TV Player) is really hard to find when people search for it on the Play Store. To fix this visibility issue, I am running this new version through a beta test. In about two weeks, once Google approves this beta testing phase, the app will officially use the name AirTune for Apple Music on Google Play Store. This new name will make the app much easier to find in search results. Once that happens, I plan to remove the old app entirely and continue permanently with this one.

🎁 PROMO CODE DETAILS & REDEMPTION
  • Promo Code: ATBETA

  • Access: 15-Day Pro Membership

  • Validity: Active starting May 20, 2026, at 00:00 GMT

To remove the song limit, please follow these steps on your TV and connected device:

  2. Navigate to Settings > Subscription.

  3. Select Get Pro.

  4. When the payment screen appears, select Payment Method.

  5. Choose More Payments.

  6. You will receive a notification on your phone, or you can go to g.co/playcontinue on a web browser.

  7. Select Redeem Code and enter the promo code: ATBETA

Thanks again for taking the time to test the app and share your thoughts!

Best regards,

I have a few playlists I listen to that come from Apple, I use a "Joy Classical" one for my mother, and I use a "Pop Punk" one for myself.

In Apple Music, I go to the play list and there is "Play" and "Shuffle" if I pick "Play" it starts playing the playlist at the first song. If I pick "Shuffle" starts playing at a random son.

AirTune has the same look to it as Apple Music, but no matter which option I pick it starts with the first song in the playlist.

You're absolutely right, that's a great catch. The shuffle button will now start with a random track from the list instead of always playing the first song. You can try it out in the next update!
