A gentle reminder about upgrading to v.8.9 & the v.8.9 patch...

Hello AIRS Users!

In a recent review of AIRS versions in use, we note that some of you
are still several versions behind. If this applies to you, now is a
good time to upgrade because we are expecting the next AIRS Upgrade
at the end of January.

If you are currently on AIRS v8.9.242, we would like you to apply the
V8.9 Patch to v8.9.243 that was released in November 2012.

This is especially important if you've been having problems with the
Verification Tickler and Tickler Report in v8.8.242.

NOTE To SYRINGE EXCHANGE Agencies: You were given the option of
staying with v8.9.242 to avoid a problem found in v8.9.243. If you
decide to run the Patch to v8.9.243, there is a replacement executable
available to fix the newer problem.

Besides the fixes to the Verification Tickler, the Patch includes the
following.

Verification Tickler / Date Verified
Updates have been made to the verification process when an End Date is
entered. When an End Date is entered the record will update the last
verified date with that date. The record will no longer be eligible
for verification.

ARV Therapy History ALERT:
Users are advised that the verification process should NOT be used on
this history until after the next release of AIRS.   New records can
be added as needed.

Insurance History
Allows for the entry of an Expiration Date that is after the
Verification Date without loss of verified dates.

RSR Client Completeness Assessment
Updates have been made to RSR Questions 54, 57, and 60. They will now
be enabled to be entered when “Unknown” is the answer to Questions 53,
56, and 59, respectively. Previously they were enabled only when “No”
and “Not medically indicated” were entered.

HCV Treatment Status
Updates have been made to allow the entry of a Treatment End Date once
the record has been verified.

Syringe Exchange
Mouse navigation to the Syringe Exchange Information screen has been
restored.

Remember, you will need to log into the new Defran support site to get
the V8.9 Patch and Instructions. They are found in the [Solutions]
tab - AIRS Knowledge Base - AIRS Release Packages.

If you need help or have problems with your upgrade, please log a
support ticket.

Also, please watch your email for notification of release of the
upcoming upgrade (in late January/early February) that will
incorporate the final changes to the 2012 RSR, particularly important
to Ryan White funded agencies.
