This is a thread about bans, their reasons, and warnings.

The warnings are a simple system that I've found works well, pretty much it's 3 strikes and your out.

Warnings can be for breaking any rule and the final punishment is determined by the giver of the 3rd warning.

The Warning plugin would indeed be a nice addition to the server as Bacca can't make the jail work.

Try using a jail plugin like slammer or the jail plugin called jail those work pretty well in fact the slammer plugin doesn't let you tp out or to any commands or break anything in the jail the only plugins that are aloud to use in the slammer plugin is /msg or /me

I don't want a warning plugin or a jail plugin, I want a place where we can direct people to show them our screenshots and proof as to why the got a warning/ban.

On jails, IF you set one up right with WorldGuard and Essentials they work well.

Yes, I understood why you made this. I just mentioned, the warning plugin would be useful, as currently we can't actually issue a player a warning apart from just saying "never again, ok?"

So I guess that you can't put the updated perms in sinced I found alot of bugs with the current perms (/nick for players, no /sethome for anyone, and a few others)

Actually I believe I fixed the /sethome thing. Can someone confirm? what are you referring to with the /nick? Do players have that right and they shouldn't?

/sethome works, yes I had placed the /nick perm in the player group instead of the mod where it should be, there are alos a few other perms I changed/fixed, please use the link from before and put those perms in if you can.

ScratchyErik2002 pasted in 2 PSTs pointed them at Mega's ship he was working on a fired, ruining the ship Mega was working on and setting him hours back on construction of it.

My proof:

He was doing 2 undo jobs right as the 2 turrets were disappearing and nobody else was using WorldEdit.

I gave him a 1 day ban and 1 warning.

I have given a firm warning to Fireboom about his junk patrol. I have let him know that if he wants the area around his base to be clean as well then he must CLAIM it. As it caused an issue, with Lord I believe, who's original ship was deleted. I don't expect him to do it again but in case the issue arises again I have already given him a warning.

ScratchyErik2002 used the turrets on a ship I wasn't done with and blew it to bits.

Today I logged in to see that my last copy of this ship was blown apart in the same manner.  Done by Erik again, this time I removed him from the whitelist.

While teleporting from player to player and in vanish, I came across two people building a vessel that resembled the shape of male genitalia.   The color was a pinkish, yellowish, hue.
I also recalled when one of them private messaged to the other one on something about GayCraft, so I was suspicious about the two having perverted intentions.   However, I was not certain the two were intentionally being perverted so I searched for evidence by asking them questions.  
Their lack of specification and the long amount of time it took for them to answer further drove my suspicion. 
I invited DoctorEckener and Jack_Castle to see it and get their opinions on it.  In the end, we gave the two a warning and deleted their "penis ship".

How do I view someone's World Edit activity history?
Someone accused another person of spawning giant spheres of TNT and blowing up his ship.  I know the accuser as an honest person and I saw the wreckage but I need the WE evidence.

I was about to say you can't paste TNT... but it turns out you can. I forbade it at one point, I'll do it again. WorldEdit TNT griefing is a sore spot for me; I don't have much patience for it. We have had problems with that in the past corrupting the whole server. And you don't "accidentally" paste in a ton of TNT and light it up.

It was forbade.  The perms I made allowed Staff to bypass the WorldEdit restrictions, but not players.

No, actually it was allowing players to place TNT. As it turns out, the order matters. Very strange. This is the way the player group perms were:

    - worldedit.*

(...some other perms...)

    - -worldedit.anyblock

And that would allow players to place TNT. I'm certain, I tested it with a player account.

Then I changed it to this:

    - -worldedit.anyblock

    - worldedit.*

And that would not not allow the player account to place TNT.

Super_Piggy000 gets a warning for annoying CapalCrassus365 and CaptainWheatley.

Giving a warning to Pig was the best solution to the argument because pig thought it's not that severe and Capal and Capt think it is.

If Rummy wants to add a ban appeal section to the Enjin I could explain to anyone who is confused why they were banned and give them a chance to explain. However I don't think I would be revoking many punishments. I can manage it if other admins don't want to deal with all the crap you will get from people.

Lol bacca, just reading your post of tnt WE griefing and I see where you are coming from. TNT with movecraft LAGS the server with the tracers and it isn't easy to WE tnt in the first place. One day I am looking in my console and I see ***5000: //set tnt    I later ask him why did you WE tnt? He says: It was an accident. Yesterday, I got griefed by Capt_MoonWalker, Flummie2000 and Lord_Naughty. Coreprotect shows they had blown up my WIP ship with tnt, and planted some on some ships near it. I want to speak to Capt_MoonWalker and Lord_Naughty before I decide what I do with them, but Flummie2000 has been permanently banned for worldediting the tnt, at least until I speak to one of them and know what happened.

I'll admit I'm not on as often as I would like, but Tyler, Do not ever tell people to disregard what I tell them to do. As I often have a good reason for it.

Temp ban for 5 Minutes on danielcbailey, for "Lagging Server", as he was spawning in creeper ships during a fight and blowing them up.

Many were warned on having to stop and clean it up their mess, Tyler told them to disregard my orders.

Here is their mess (See above) There were a few other ships, but Tyler was kind enough to clean some of them up. I had danielcbrailey do the rest a little later.

Here it is sighted in the rules;

• Moderators
• Don't piss off moderators. Yes, I know its not fair. But it is what it is. I try to choose people who are not easily angered, and seem level headed. That probably matters the most to me. If you shoot your mouth off at a moderator, you might get punished even if you didn't technically break any of the rules found here. In a serious case, I may intervene and talk to the mod. But probably not. That being said, I do expect mods to try not to hold grudges. So far, I believe we have done well in this regard.

With all due respect to Jack's way of punishment, I would like to defend myself here. The battle was chaotic but that was what was fun about it, a lot of people randomly fighting random people. I am not the only one pasting ships in battle, everyone was pasting ships when theirs was sunk. Even Tyler (I am not ratting on him) was spawning creepers and having a ball. Having said that, I am the only person mentioned in the message stated above that was "lagging the server" yet I was not the only one, it is Movecraft, have 11 people all doing as I did and you get a laggy server. Prior to being temp banned, I was given no indication that I was offending Jack or that I would be banned. About 1 and a half minutes later, Tyler unbanned me and I could rejoin. Only about 10 minutes later the server crashed and Jack restarted it. After the message stated by Jack was posted (the one above) I was told to "clean up my mess" despite I had no wreckage of my own to clean as creepers obliterate themselves. I didn't mind cleaning up the mess however I did not like how I was treated during it, I was treated as if it were my mess and that I am the only one who caused it. At the end I was left with :"You are free to go", I know that is sarcasm but I don't think sarcasm was appropriate given the event. I feel for my cooperation that I should not have my username listed as the only one.

I will provide my chat logs from my client as evidence of what was going on and the message from Jack before he can edit it according to this post.

WC, stands for Wrong Chat, which means I meant to sent that to another person, I was having an argument with Tyler that is why I ignored you, I only tempbaned you because you were in my line of sight doing it when I was stranded on my ship due to lagg.

You were only tempbanned for 5 minutes hardly much of a punishment, and I understand that it was not just you.

I did appreciate that you stepped up to help with out resistance, sorry that you felt persecuted.

It seems to me that Jack is upset that Tyler countermanded something Jack had said. However it also seemed to me that Jack was already trying to counter Tyler by ordering the combat Tyler was operating ended.

A comparison could be drawn to if Jack was running a large battle, and another moderator felt it was lagging the server. If that moderator were to show up and order everyone to stop and clean up, I suspect Jack would not appreciate that interference without coming to an agreement with him first.

In my opinion it was not appropriate to interfere in a combat being run by Tyler without first coming to an agreement between moderators. That is how I would have handled it. In the event an agreement could not be come to, the matter would need to be dropped until we could discuss it and decide if a rule needed to be made or changed. 

Unfortunately, we really can't have moderators fighting with each other in public.

And "don't piss off moderators" does not mean "I'm an admin, so I'm always right." While it is true that I expect admins to have to make decisions on the fly as to whether something should be allowed or not, and I do expect players to abide by those decisions, I also expect admins to use a less forceful hand than was shown here.

Now, everyone has bad days, and I have been known to shoot off on someone for something minor (and apologize later for it). I don't want to focus too much on this particular instance, but I did want people to hear how I felt about it.

Just a short comment I think I know how to fix the issue with core protect and creeper heal with rollback not working creeper heal might be messing with the core protect database the default data base for co to fix the issue connect a MySQL database to core protect and creeper heal should not interfere with the co database

shubn007 cut moon's ship while him and dan were battling, then he lied to me about cutting it, refused to undo it (i had to sudo him) and kept on lying to be about it, i banned him for a hour for lying to staff, interfering with a battle and later I learned that while I was interrogating him he was messing with dan's ship.

I give him a warning.

It was looking through the logs trying to find something unrelated, and discovered that an admin had added people to the beta server that should not be there, then they even OP'd them.

It should not be necessary for me to say this, but YOU DO NOT OP ANYONE ON THE SERVER FOR ANY REASON. This is the second time an admin has OPd someone, the first had been dealt with and I thought it was an anomaly. A momentary lapse in judgement.

This time a different admin OP'd not just one but several people, not to mention adding people to the beta server that should not be there. If they want to help, great, they can ask to be added just like anybody else.

If I was not leaving in 2 days, and there was tons of work to be done in a short time I would ban the people involved. But there is tons of work to be done, and not a lot of time. So this is a warning. My granting OP status is not free license to flaunt all the rules.

I was the one who added and OP'd this second time, I unfortunately did not see the other post regarding this issue. I added them to the server to do work under my supervision, they reached a point in there building process were they needed powers to complete, I did not know, nor have the power to add people to the build group. In order to complete the task they needed to edit some minute part of a city, so I OP'd them, when the task was done I deOP'd them.

And while were addressing issues, I would like to address the great lack of communication, reading everything that comes on the forums is an extreme inconvenience to me, I have not the time nor the attention-span to probe all the forums for anything that might involve me. To fix this I recommend that we have daily Staff meetings and weekly Team meetings, hosted on the Windforge Teamspeak or Skype, or both. My Skype is DeusDuCarta, the IP for the TS is "ts.windforge.net".

In other news the road between Renora and Fillanel is complete as according to specification, there is also a quaint little Inn, with a collapsed roof, along the side of the path near the center of the trek to assist players at night if it proves too difficult to surmount.

As far as adding people to the build team, it is required that they demonstrate an ability to use these forums, as they must remain the primary method of communication. This is absolutely essential, as it is the only way I can help direct things when I am otherwise busy working on videos / the plugin / my day job. I understand some people don't like the forums, but I'm afraid it really is the best way. Survival build members need to update the forums with what they have worked on (there isn't enough of this BTW). And they need to use the forums to find out what remains to be done.

That being said, I like the idea of regular meetings this week, when I can devote more time to the survival server. I will post on that subject in a different thread since this isn't really the place for it.

After I tried to ban him it came up with "Player not found", so I removed from white-list and will re-add him after 3 days.

So effectively he gets a 3 day ban as-well as a warning.

I don't think that disrespect is grounds for whitelist removal and would prefer that we make it something like a one month ban because of the amount of time he spends on the server. There is no point in punishing someone so severely for simply disrespecting authority, however if he was cuasing issues for other people or disobeying the rules that is more understandable.

It doesn't matter what he got the last warning for. Three warnings = permanent ban.

He has also been doing this for as long as I can remember. In fact, the first ban ever issued on the server was to fire for disrespecting staff. I gave him multiple verbal warnings about what he was saying to get himsel banned for the last time, but he kept on going.

Fuzzy. Fire's first 2 warnings were because of the fact that he was greifing, in specific he was clearing any ship he found within 1000 blocks of his region, not within the region, OUTSIDE the region 1k.

His last warning was because of disrespect yes, but the story I heard was that after repeated jails/mutes/kicks he was finally given the last warning and removed from whitelist.

I thought I better weigh in on this. I have reviewed the logs from the incident, seen all that was said both privately and publicly. I'm afraid I stand by Eckeners decision. It is hard for me to see Fire go, he has been on the server for longer than most. But I think if we are honest, it is not really surprising to those who knew him well. Even as the event unfolded several people could see what was coming and tried to privately convince Fire to stop. But a personality like Fire's really can't let go, and I'm afraid that is why he is better off not being on the server.

The only other thing I would like to say on this subject is that when you have a disagreement with someone who is in authority, even when you hate their guts, you absolutely must find a way to deal with them. Some people will just never get along. I like Fire, and I like Eckener, but its clear they were never going to get along. My recommendation if you are in that position, keep your distance when you can and swallow your pride when you can't.

PocketKid2 is Banned, and Removed from the Whitelist. He removed all of another players ships from his region and then erased the schematics.

I was able to repair the damage sinced it was mostly just wool and some armor damage and not near any of the systems.

wait, what? I have been at my plot the whole time, save for the one time I tped to super to help him with a long range sniper tnt cannon that I saw where it went, only blew off a bit of his ship. And he was fine.

Look, if you are going to ban me for 3 days, fine, I dont want to get perm banned because I decided to argue when my only argument was my own word.

I would never just go off and blow some crap up because it was fun, if I want to do that, I paste my own airship.

I will accept the ban, but not the reason.

ButterBrine22 has crashed the server twice today with worldedit. I warned him to be careful, after the first crash. As such, he will be restricted from using worldedit until further notice. We will begin removing rights to WE and any other feature that is used to crash the server. I simply can not have the server interrupting things as much as it currently does.

Samunderminer gets a warning for damaging my work in progress ship by pasting right into it. Probably not intentional but he should be more careful.


Also, I removed schematics screwyoubaccacarrier and screwyoudestroyermk3 because it would appear they both have a very large amount of tnt in them, essentially every air block is replaced with it.

Just to comment on my last thing my proof is that I spyed on coolkids server I borrowed a friends alt to spy in coolkids server and I have talked to Sam directly and Sam looks up to coolkid as a god or a king basically Sam is looking up to coolkid as a good representation of someone to lookup to
I've seen this before its a common thing to happen on servers
I am still looking into this more but I've summed it up to this I'm not blaming Sam or anyone from what I can see it's not sams wrong doing its the fact of peer pressure
