Hey All,

As all of you know that I got selected for StartingBloc Fellowship which requires me to attend one week long program in New York this May. Total expense of the fellowship is around $1000 (programme fee) + $140 (Visa fee) + $1200 (Flight charges). Apart from this, accommodation would be provided for free to the fellows.

Out of the above mentioned program fee ($1000), Startingbloc offers $500 and allows us to raise remaining amount through the marketplace provided on their website. The link is as follows: http://www.startingbloc.org/institute/sponsorship/2124

These days I am in the process of raising funds for attending the fellowship. Main problem is, I have very limited savings with me (from the job I did in last one and a half year) and I need to put in the same into the operations of AapkiTechnology.

I am writing this mail for raising the funds. If each of you contribute as little as $20 for the program, I am sure I will be able to raise the required amount! After all, Crowd-funding has got immense potential...right?

Do contribute, I will make it count! Promise!

Hey All,

This is to inform you that I have received contribution worth $180 for StartingBloc so far. I would like to thank people who have shown their support and made it relatively easier for me to attend the fellowship. People who have made contribution are: Anshul Goel, Vickram Dhawal, Vineet Chirania, Saurabh Das, Piyush Jaju, Sashikant, Ashish Saxena, Aakanksha Sadekar.

I would also request others to come forward and help me in attending the fellowship programme.

Some More details on StartingBloc Fellowship:

The StartingBloc Fellowship selects 110 emerging global entrepreneurs every year for training them in solving social challenges in their respective area of interests. It's an esteemed fellowship programme supported by top B- Schools like MIT Sloan and esteemed global organizations like Ashoka and Goldman Sachs. The fellowship requires me to attend New York Institute for a week in May 2011, during which experts from academia and Industry will guide the fellows about the ways they can take their venture to the next level. I am sure attending the fellowship will help me to not only enhance the social impact AapkiTechnology is going to make, but also raise the international funding for taking the venture to National/International level. And I can make all this possible if you help me to raise the required funds!

If you require more details about the fellowship, kindly revert back!

Looking forward to listening from you!

Regards,

Ashish

Dear All,

I would like to explain my reason of withdrawing from the StartingBloc Programme. I did that because the first project of AapkiTechnology (Community level Water RO Plant) is getting launched on May 1 in the village near Ahmedabad, and the project requires my continuous involvement for at least two months. I did not withdraw due to insufficient funding, if fact you guys gave me sufficient funds to at least cover my application fee. Thanks a lot for your support.

I understand that I have disappointed you by withdrawing from the fellowship but I am sure you will appreciate my decision of not compromising with the execution of the first project of AapkiTechnology. After all, AapkiTechnology is far more important than any other fellowship program. I am sure I will get to attend such fellowships in future. All I need right now is to execute what I want to do in the village!

Apologizing again! Thanks for Support!

@ Donors: Kindly confirm that you have got your contribution back from StartingBloc.
@ Yogesh: Forward me your account details. I will transfer your contribution to your account.

Regards,

Ashish

Hey Ashish,
I just got a mail from Starting bloc that my contribution has been refunded because you have withdrawn from the programme.
What happenned?
If its because of the insufficient fund raised, its highly disappointing that people have not bothered to donate even this small amount
for a social cause. Highly disappointing from you guys!

No regrets Ashish... There'll be many fellowships coming your way, commencement and execution of the first project and its impact on the grassroot level are far more important. Execution of this project has happened at lightening speed, and it requires your attention for sustenance.

All The Best...
