I recently updated my Pixel 7 Pro to Android 14, and could no longer access my DJI flight logs  at  Android\data\dji.go.v5\files\FlightRecord

I've just signed up for Airdata and installed the Android app. When trying to grant permission to DJI Fly access in the app, it comes up with the message Can't use this folder. This is obviously the same problem I get trying to access the folder directly on the phone. I presume because of greater security on Android 14. What is the solution to this please?

I have been waiting for an answer to the same problem on my Pixel 7 Pro , even before updating to Android 14. For now, Airdata seems to be a NoGo on Android, at least for some Pixel 7 Pro's with Android 13 or 14.

Thanks Adam, that's worrying. I friend has a P7P still on Android 13 and seems to have Airdata UAV running OK, but he can't view the logs directly in the phone via a file browser.

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the challenge you're facing with accessing your DJI flight logs on your Pixel 7 Pro after the Android 14 update.

Please follow the steps below, which have been verified to work for Android 13 devices. If what you see on Android 14 deviates from the below instructions, please send an email to sup...@airdata.com with your observations. Thank you for your time and understanding.

How to Grant Permissions to AirData UAV on Android:

1. Navigate to Manage Permissions: On your Pixel 7 Pro, open the AirData UAV mobile app, and look for the "Manage Permissions" option within the Settings menu (screenshot).
2. Select Supported Apps: Once in the "Manage Permissions" section, locate and select "Supported Apps." (screenshot)
3. Choose the Flight App: In the "Supported Apps" tab, you will find a list of flight apps. Choose the specific flight app (in this case, DJI Fly) for which you wish to grant AirData UAV access. (screenshot)
4. Access the System Folder: You will be directed to the system folder for the chosen flight app. At this point, you don't need to navigate any further or select any additional folders. (screenshot)
5. Grant Permission: Simply tap the "Use this folder" button within the system folder. When prompted, select "Allow" to grant the necessary permissions. You will be taken back to the Supported Apps tab, where you'll notice that the checkbox for your flight app is now filled in, indicating successful permission. (screenshot 1screenshot 2)

If you have other flight apps you wish to sync with AirData UAV, please repeat the same process for each of them.

By following these steps, you should be able to grant the essential permissions for AirData UAV to access your flight logs on your Android 14 device. This will allow you to seamlessly sync your flight data with our platform.

We hope this information proves helpful in resolving the issue. If you encounter any further difficulties or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at sup...@airdata.com.

Best regards,
Teresa

Hi Teresa, thanks for your reply. As I said in the original post, I followed those steps exactly, but when it opens the system folder to grant permission, it says Can't use this folder, and the Use this folder button at the bottom is greyed out. It is obviously an increased security problem with Android 14, but also seems to affect some Pixel 7 Pro phones running Android 13. I will email support, but just link them to this thread.

Regards, Bruce Clarke

Same findings and outcomes on Android 13, as i sent in my other post. I have now updated my Pixel 7 Pro to Android 14, and the problem continues.

Thanks for the update Teresa. I don't have a pressing need to look at logs at the moment, but will try this if necessary. I don't see how Google can get round the problem permanently without changing their security settings back.
