I have finally gone through all my testing in reviewing your new
products for use in my clothing company. Here’s a quick report on my
findings.
Summary:
Excellent product that sprays better, mixes better and stores better
than your standard, good paints. I will be switching all my paints to
your products over the next month from my current hodge-podge of
product from various fine manufactures. Tee-Rub rocks but a white
tinted version would be very helpful on dark fabrics.
Spraying Characteristics:
Ultra seems to have smaller pigment particles that allow it to spray
much better through smaller airbrushes. I have previously had problems
with .5mm or smaller tips but Ultra sprays nicely right from the
bottle at about 28 lbs. on not only my various .5mm airbrushes but my
favorite Iwata HP-C plus with a .3mm tip. The tip drying is also
reduced from your other paints and I can even leave it in fast-blast
bottles for a few days (bad habit) and they will still spray fine. I
am hopeful that you can come up with opaque Ultra paints that spray
this well, tough to do but these new paints give me optimism. Your
Crystal Sparkle works and sprays nicely, I suspect you use similar
glass pearl flakes (ice) that I’ve been using for awhile. The glass
flakes spray much better through airbrushes than mylar. Every fabrics
painter should be using Sparkle on their clothing, looks great at a
reasonable cost.
Mixing Characteristics:
This is an area where the new product shines, custom color mixing is
much improved both when mixing and in colors separating after mixing.
Nice work! I mix all my own colors and this has been a problem area
for certain colors in everybody’s paints. I’m hopeful that Ultra
solves that situation for me and so far so good. A Ultra color set of
primary colors would be great for those of us who always have a color
wheel on hand and understand color theory. Speaking of mixing, I mixed
your white opaque paint with TeeRub and it helped in my painting as
all my clothing are black and I normally lay down a few lights coats
of binder (now using TeeRub instead) then 6-8 coats of opaque white so
the colors pop on the black cloth. White Tinted TeeRub is like getting
house paint with primer in it, saves time as well as paint thickness.
A Quote for You:
“Aqua Flow’s new Ultra Fabric Paints give me exactly what I need in
paints for my clothing lines, superior results with less problems. If
other business issues could be solved this easily life would be
great!”
