In the Name of Allah

The 12th Annual Competition for Memorization and Recitation of the Holy Quran

 

1- Competition Objectives

Further familiarity with the noble Quran and the beautiful Islamic values

Strengthening the sense of unity and brotherhood among Muslim communities, since Quran is certainly the way to the greatest success in this world and hereafter.

Increased accessibility to Quran for all, spreading the culture of memorisation and recitation of Quran.

 

2- Competition Categories

The competition will be held in the following categories:

Memorisation

1)      Surah Al Waqi’a (Surah 56)                                                           2)      1 Juzu (1 part of Quran)

3)      2 Juzu (2 parts of Quran)                                                                4)      3 Juzu (3 parts of Quran)

5)      5 Juzu (5 parts of Quran)                                                                6)      10 Juzu (10 parts of Quran)

7)      All 30 Juzu of Quran

 

Recitation

Tarteel:

Brothers - 10 years and above                Sisters - 10 years and above

Tahqiq (Tajwid):

Brothers - 10 years and above

 

3- Competition Notes

Please note the following Important information:

1. The competition will be held on

Friday & Saturday 3rd and 4th September 2010

(After Duaa Iftitah)

2. THE WINNERS WILL BE AWARDED ON

Sunday 5th September 2010

3. Participation in more than one of the three competition categories is not allowed, provided earlier registrati on has been completed.

4. It would be greatly appreciated if participants can obtain sponsorship letters from any Islamic institution or Masjed in Britain or Europe. In case, this letter is not obtained please contact the Islamic centre of England as soon as possible.

5. The final day for registration will be

Sunday 2nd September 2010

Please complete and return the registration form by that date to Islamic Centre of England’s Reception.

6. Any of the above mentioned competition categories will only be held once the minimum requirement of 5 participants is reached.
