Hello,
My name is Zaw Htet. I'm writing to you from Mount Tamalpais College (MTC), an independent liberal arts college dedicated to serving incarcerated students at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center.
We are currently recruiting volunteer co-instructors and study group leaders to teach college-level math courses (pre-algebra, algebra and statistics) in the Spring 2026 semester (January 6 - April 22). The selected candidate(s) will have access to a wealth of curriculum resources to teach these courses and the full support of the MTC staff.
The commitment is 2 hours of instruction, once per week at San Quentin from Sunday-Friday 3-5 pm or 6-8pm. Co-instructors must have or are currently pursuing an advanced degree (ideally a master's or doctoral degree) and teaching experience. Please find out more information and apply using this application link and share this opportunity with your network!
If you have more questions, you can attend an upcoming virtual info session or email to Zaw Htet, Math & Science Program Director, at zhtet at mttamcollege dot edu.
Best,
Zaw
