Durham Deafened Support (DDS) has a twenty one-year history of successfully supporting people, with hearing loss, living in County Durham and Darlington. DDS provides reintegration and support services which enable the deafened person, and their families, to cope better with the changes caused to their lives.
P/T Funding and Development Manager Required
Durham Deafened Support is seeking to employ a dynamic person with a creative approach, excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work unsupervised. This purpose of the role is to secure funding that supports the ongoing work of the delivery of services supporting Deaf, deafened, hearing-impaired and deaf/blind people. The successful applicant will also assist in the development of the organisation in line with its vision and agreed aims. The person will be part of a small team and will report directly to the Trustees.
This post is part-time, 25 hours per week and 18 months fixed term contract. Extension of this period is dependent on the successful applicant securing appropriate funding to enable the role to continue. The salary is £18,500 p.a. The post is subject to a 3 month probationary period and annual review.
The weekly working pattern can be negotiated subject to the demands of the organisation. However, due to the nature of the role, a degree of flexibility will be necessary. The post is subject to successful DBS Enhanced Disclosure and receipt of appropriate references.
The person appointed will be based at the DDS office in Horden. The role will involve travel, therefore access to own transport is essential. Travelling expenses will be paid at the current rate, in line with DDS Policy. More information about DDS can be found at www.ddsupport.org.uk.
