Dear all,

Cindy and I are now inviting you to submit proposals for our Research Network Symposium at the AILA conference in Vancouver in August 2027. As you know, the AILA general call is already out with an imminent, extended deadline on 7 July. However, the ReNs have a different timeline and submission protocol, which gives us more time.

We are therefore inviting abstracts for talks that speak to the theme of the congress, Empowering voices, sustaining pluralities: Cultivating languages and collective belonging, and sit within the scope of our Research Network: Academic Publishing and Presenting in a Global Context. We are leaving the call deliberately open but we encourage work that pushes disciplinary boundaries, theoretical thinking, research designs and/or modes of practice (brokering/pedagogies) in academic knowledge and writing production and dissemination, within and across geolinguistic (and other) spaces.

Please send us a 150word abstract (with a title, your name, contact email and institutional affiliation) for a 20minute talk at our ReN email <aila.r...@gmail.com> by 31 August. Depending on the number of submissions, we are aiming to organise either half a day (6 papers or 5 papers + general discussion/roundtable) or two half days.

For more details, and abstract submission instructions, see the AILA2027 webpages: https://www.aila2027.com/aila-2027-world-congress/papers

We look forward to your submissions!

warmly,

cat. and Cindy
