kids outing to cubbon park

Outing:
This time an outing for the kids @shishu mandir has been planned to cubbon park, its been a while since the last one.

We will arrange for food and schedule it on Saturday (9th Feb) around 10:00 am, so that they can have lunch with us.

Some prerequisites for this will be at least 8-10 volunteers for around 25 kids and ppl with cars (most important).

Monthly Contributions:
One SBI bank account has been opened for monthly contributions, following are the details

Other than this, contributions can also be made to following a/cs (in-case e-transfer to above doesn't work)

Once you transfer the amount just drop off a mail.

We need to plan the outing as there are so many logistics that need to be double checked, so let us know who all can make it.

Hi,

Shishu Mandir is very near to Nimhans hospital, as soon as you get down from dairy circle flyover while coming from the Forum side, there is a Kidwai Institute of oncology, adjacent to it there are all the homes. It will be around 8-10kms from MG road.

And we will be starting by somewhere 9:45-10:00 am.

We had given a letter to the suprintendent for her permission this saturday. She called me now to grant her permission :)))

 

We have decided to take about 20 kids above the age two on this Saturday to Lalbagh. This will also include a lunch for them.

 

The program schedule will be as follows for this saturday:

 

9:30 AM - Assemble at Children's Home (located beside Girls Home near Nimhans, Dairy Circle)

9:45 AM - Depart for Lalbagh

10:00 AM to 1 PM - Spend time at Lalbagh and have lunch also.

1:00 PM - Depart back for the homes.

 

The most critical thing here is transportation. I have the confirmation from following car owners:

Myself, Abhishek and his friend, Chetan, Nirupama.

 

I think we will need a maximum of two more cars to make it a comfortable travel. If any one of you can confirm, it will be great.

 

Also, since the kids will be in age group of 2-6 years, some additional volunteers who can join would be welcome.

 

Kindly confirm if you decide to join.

This saturday, we are having Birthday Celebrations @ Shishu Mandir for kids in the age group of 1-6 years. We have made all arrangements also. Please just pariticipate in enjoying the same with the kids. We plan to have cake cutting, games, songs and dance with the kids.

 

 

              

 

The map to the homes is attached. We intend to start by 10:30 AM.

This saturday, the heavens opened up. We thought that this will lead to cancellation of the trip. But actually it was to facilitate our trip in a cooled down Lalbagh. The rain stopped just in time for the kids to enter and enjoy and the sun appeared back only after we had finished our trip!!!!!!

 

Thanks to the efforts of the volunteers (captured in the photos along with the kids), we took about 15 kids to Lalbagh. They seemed to be happy to finally come out into open space. We had also arranged for umbrellas for each of them in case it rains and it was a joy to see them enjoying carrying their umbrellas around.

 

We were joined in by a few new volunteers and we went there comfortably in 5 cars. The volunteer and children ratio was almost 1:1 and there were no problems in managing the kids. Of course after some time, the lack of exercise was evident in volunteers as compared to the energy of the children but we managed to catch up. It was good that the lady volunteers took upon themselves to bring some nice home cooked food and kids simply loved it.

 

Finally it was parting time in the afternoon and we were all exhausted but satisfied.

 

Hope to see many more outings going. Some of the photographs are attached sent by Smitha. Others will be shared by Chetan and Abhishek.
