Subject: Summer League Time!
Date: Tue, 12 May 2009 11:44:37 -0400
Hey Last Year’s Summer Leaguers!
It’s now time to start the hype for this year’s league! Online
registration is now up and running, we’ve got some new sponsorship
information, information on the draft, and some changes in the format.
Please see the detailed explainations of each below!
· Online Registration
o All registration must be completed online this year! There will
be no paper registration available, so please do not show up to the
draft or the first game without having registered as it will be
closed.
o To clear up any additional confusion, all players including
captains and core members are required to preregister online.
· Fundraising Opportunity for local teams
o To help gain additional sponsorships for this year’s league, we
are asking that everyone help pitch in! We will be establishing
different levels of sponsorship at $100, $250, and $500.
o 30% of amount raised will be donated to the local ultimate team of
your choice, so if you local high school or college teams would like
new jerseys this year, here’s your chance to raise a little cash.
Please contact me if interested and would like more details.
· Regular League play will return to one night a week, Mondays
at 6:30. Games will be running from June 1-August 1. Please note also
the change in the playoff schedule, the quarterfinals will take place
on Wednesday, July 29th and the Semifinal and Finals will be on
Saturday, August 1 followed by the year end party.
· New, advanced (for players with significant experience)
league play will take place on Wednesday nights! Cost is an
additional $10 and will be separate from Monday nights. Yes, you can
play in both, but no, you can’t just play in advanced league.
· Preseason Hat Tournament May 23rd! Cost is only $5/person
and will play alongside the South Carolina State High School
Championships. Games will end prior to Championship game start and
encourage everyone to stick around for pizza and watch the game.
Anyone with additional questions, anyone who wants to volunteer this
year, or anyone who wants to be a captain is invited to come out to
Sudworks Thursday, May 21 at 7-8pm to get more information. This will
be an informal informational meeting where we will go over a few of
the changes for this year and also to answer any questions.
Thanks,
Josh Evans
