Measurable results expected from the intern | To help the trainees fit in; increase their exposure, get them aware to add value and participate to the team environment. To understand some of the new developments in the mobile application development space, the successful apps and what makes them successful from a feature and a technology standpoint. To understand the challenges of software development to prepare them for the future. Exposure to best practices to commenting code and sharing code. Introduction to tools used in software development in industry [unfuttle, basecamp]. To observe overall "internal" project management: Learning about the challenges and how they are overcome. Be able to evaluate the technology that goes into the creative ideas To understand technical feasibility and practice To be able to analytically break down bigger projects into smaller tasks |
Preparation required from the intern before arrival | It is important to do research and be aware of some of the recent mobile apps, learn what is going in the technology industry in the mobile app development industry in NYC and what are some of the common topics of discussion. Overall learning and reading about best practices in software dvelopment (the SDLC) One trainee needs to have relevant degree and skills in Objective C skill set with iOS development (iPad / iPhone) |

Learning points that the intern might obtain during the internship | Business analysis and project management, working with a team towards a common goal. The trainee will overall be supporting Icreon Tech's project developments from a "client" facing standpoint. The trainee will learn institutional insight on the life cycle of project whether a mobile app or a web app in terms of how the team delivers a project internally and what are the best practice do's and don'ts. Awarness of differences between ajili and waterfall approaches towards software development. The trainee will also learn how to build relationships with fellow staff members and supervisors and form a strong team identity. |
Additional information a potential candidate may require for the Internship | The purpose of this training is to prepare the trainee to understand how an IT services company works in United States, to improve their skills in all programming services, and to enhance the global outlook within the company. They will learn this through training, assistance, observation, and participation in Icreon Tech's activities in NYC and other events happening in the area. At the end of the training program the trainee will have acquired new skills and will have developed some of the skills that are required in the IT/programming area, will have learnt the importance of team-collaboration to how to adjust the project definition and expectations through frequent discussion and consensus, experience the camaraderie and group-dynamics of working on a team that is working towards a common goal. |
