This is the current situation and information updated by AIESEC Egypt.

Dear AIESEC Egypt Interns,

I am Hamdy El-Eraky National Director in AIESEC Egypt and i am sending you this email to Clarify some points regarding the upcoming protests in Egypt

People are calling for demonstrations on Sunday 30th June 2013  but it is Mainly as Usual for Political Reasons of Egyptians Related to our government Performance

Anyways everyone participating in those Protest are Peaceful Protestors and generally it is safe in Cairo Far of those protest Places and Outside of Cairo

However it is advised for EVERYONE to stay away from The places that have the protest that is very well known in Egypt ( Tahrir Square , Etehadya Square infront of presidential Palace ) and You will safe and sound where we gurantee your safety IF YOU DONOT GO TO PROTEST , Please If you go there it is hard for us to Guarantee Your Safety,

Dear Members of the AIESEC Community,

As you may be aware, several groups have been calling for marches tomorrow -Friday, June 28- and gatherings may well be centralized at Rabaa Eladawia-Nasr City- and the Tahrir Square.

Due to this, caution is advised when traveling within and outside Cairo. Do not forget to have your personal identification available in your wallet or on you.  In cases of emergency, please call AIESEC Egypt emergency line: 0122-033-7244 ( for international members).

The following advice can help keep you safe and secure:

 1. Exercise caution when passing by government buildings, police stations and military barracks.

 2. Treat members of the security forces you encounter with patience and respect, and follow all instructions promptly.

 3. Carry photographic identification and a mobile phone.

 4. Remain alert to the possibility of road blockage in different areas.

 5. Get familiar with escape routes in case of emergency situation.

 6. Keep updated on the situation by following media reports.

 7. Keep enough supply of food and water at home.

 8. Keep your vehicle fueled.

 9. If you are occasionally trapped in the crowd you are reminded to:

·Do not panic, keep calm.

·Make yourself aware of your surroundings and mentally notice alternate exits.

·If you find yourself in the middle of a moving crowd, do not fight against the pressure, and try to take advantage of any space that may open up to move sideways to the crowd movement where the flow is weaker.

·If you fall and cannot get up, try to keep moving by crawling in the same direction. If it’s not possible, cover your head with your arms and curl up into the fetal position.

·The worst scenario is to be pushed by the crowd against an immovable object, try to stay away from walls, fences or barricades, as the crowd pressure can build up rapidly.

AIESEC will continue to provide you with regular reliable information through e-mail, SMS and on the National Website at www.aiesec-eg.org. Please keep a copy of the emergency phone numbers listed below
