COUNTRY ANALYSIS FOR QUARTER 1
Some Instructions before you start going through it,
1. There are 3 regions covered i.e. MENA, WENA and Africa. Analysis for another 3 regions will be sent to the commission soon.
2. About the Analysis, Firstly, It has been done for the last 3 years since we are trying to analyze the trend in the last 3 years for Q1. Secondly, The analysis has been done on the basis of the number of matches and realizations separately with the number of matches & realizations with India by the particular country/region.
3. In the end, You will find the number of EP forms available which basically shows the number of EPs available to match in the particular region. So, the more gap you have, you know what to do :)
4. Inferences drawn have been mentioned below the analysis of every region. Again, there might be some trends which I have missed out on. Please feel free to mention the same while you are replying to this email.
6. If there is any problem or if you need any clarification. Please feel free to get back to me.

Inferences -
1. The MENA region has been our strength specially in 2012 & 2013.
2. According to 2013, This region will match more in Q4 of the preceding year and the EPs will realize in Q1 of the next year i.e. We had 27 matches with the region and 51 realizations. The gap has come from the matching done in Q4 of the previous year that means MENA region is STILL matching right now & HEAVILY for their Q1 realizations.
3. As the region has more than 1200 EPs available to match and especially when the region is looking forward to match these forms ASAP, we should start tapping on to the countries to match.
4. Egypt has always been our major partner. We have to maintain good relations with Egypt in order to cooperate more, just because of good relations the Year or Year (YoY) growth has been around 80% from 2012 to 2013 in terms of number of matches.
5. Bahrain which has been growing incessantly wants to do more exchange with India. Out of the entire number of realizations of Bahrain, approximately 25% is with India which shows their intent to match & realize more EPs with AIESEC India.
6. Iran, again is not a major EP provider but again they have realized 25% of their EPs with AIESEC India showing their intent to cooperate more.
7. Percentage of exchange done with India (Y0Y)
2013 2012 2011
Matches - 12.79% Matches - 22.15% Matches - 0.041%
Realizations - 15.4% Realizations - 21.71% Realizations - 0.90%
Inferences are clear-
a) The number of Matches & Realizations had grown exponentially in 2012 in comparison from 2011 which was basically because of our inability to provide good experience to our EPs in 2012 and the result can be seen in 2013.
b) When the overall number of matches in increasing by 45% (approx.) in the region, the number of matches with India is decreasing from 37to 27. In a situation when the region is growing but not the numbers are not increasing in sync with AIESEC India, This shows that they are discouraging exchange with India. So, in your delivery cycle, please take care of EPs from this region because this region can turn out to be a Growth Driver for AIESEC India in 2014.
8. Not to forget,
Countries to tap on (Matches in Q1) - Egypt & Bahrain (Majorly)
Countries to tap on (Realizations in Q1) - Egypt, Bahrain & Morocco (Majorly)
Western Europe & North America (WENA)

Inferences -
1. With more than 1100 EP forms that are available in this region. We have to tap on to the countries ASAP in order to make our Q1 the best we have ever seen yet.
2. MENA region matches in Q1 for Q2 realizations i.e. Out of their 62 EPs matches in 2013, only 34 of them realized which shows that the remaining lot of the EPs is going to realize in Q2. So, please remember to tap on to WENA countries in Q1 itself for your summer cycle. That's how their matching cycle works. The same was noticed in 2012.
3. As MENA region, the region has grown by 20% (approx) in the number of Matches & 30% (approx) in the number of Realizations but the same is not reflected in the number of Matches & Realizations with India.
4. On an average, the ratio of Total Matches in Q1 vs. Matches with India in Q1 is 14:1 (approx.) & Total Realizations in Q1 vs. Realizations with India in Q1 is 20:1 (approx.) which means out of every 14 EPs matched from WENA region, one is matched with India & likewise in realizations.
5. Germany has been our Major EP supplier from WENA region. With an average growth of 30% (Approx.) from 2011 to 2012 & 2012 to 2013, You can expect this growth to continue in 2014 as well. However, It has grown overall by 30% annually in terms of number of Matches & Realizations but the number of Matches & Realizations with AIESEC India has decreased drastically becoming a cause of concern for the commission and has to be dealt with in 2014. We can't continue to face this Negative Growth in 2014 unless we sort our Deliver Model out for better delivery of the experience. The same can be seen with Indonesia where their EPs were happy and the same was reflected on NPS. Now, Indonesia is recruiting EPs specifically for India.
6. The UK & The US had sent CEEDers to AIESEC India in this year for a better experience of their EPs. Due to a major number of Quality Complaints with the UK in 2013, they might discourage exchange with India. However, in any situation, It is not advised to not to tap on to them. About the US, They would still be looking forward to match more EPs with India.
7. Canada had good relations with AIESEC India in 2012 but due to quality complaints in 2012, They had stopped matching their EPs with India. However, with our New Quality Initiatives, Canada should be tapped on in order to get more matches & realizations from this region.
8. Italy, has some quality complaints already being solved. However, Their Country Manager for India still wants to match more EP with AIESEC India.
9. If you have noticed, I have talked a LOT about Quality Issues with this region. It is because of 2 reasons -
a) Expectation Setting.
b) Poor Delivery Mechanism in the LCs.
Let's sort these issues out for a better 2014.
10. Percentage of Exchange with India (YoY)
2013 2012 2011
Matches - 7.30% Matches - 12.23% Matches - 9.06%
Realizations - 4.79% Realizations - 8.04% Realizations - 10.91%
Inferences-
a) This region doesn't promote AIESEC India which can be seen (at least in 2013) above. The possible solutions have already been covered in the points above.
b) 2012, was the peak for us. However, What we did in 2012 has affected us in 2013. So, Food for thought for you all. Would you still continue the same so that your future generations will suffer?
11. Countries to tap on-
Countries to tap on (Matches in Q1) - Germany, Italy, US, The Netherlands (Majorly)
Countries to tap on (Realizations in Q1) - Germany, Italy, The Netherlands (Majorly)
Again, Not to forget, This region matches in Q1 for their Q2.

1. This region has not been that active for AIESEC India in Q1. This is how their cycle works. However, This region has always been good for matching in Q4 of the preceding year and the realizations for Q1 in the next year which means that they are matching right now in order to get their EPs realized in Q1 (Same like MENA region).
2. For Matching, Following countries should be tapped on - Kenya, Nigeria.
3. For Realizations, Following countries should be tapped on - Nigeria, South Africa, Mauritius.
4. Also, Countries in this region have always promoted exchange within themselves. Like, Brazil & Colombia in Iberoamerica. In order to grow aggressively, We have to re-consider our neighbor countries which can turn out to be a Growth Driver like it did few years back with China.
I hope this analysis will help you to get a deeper understanding of Demand & Supply and thus, to get more and more Matches & Realizations in Q1.
Please make the optimum use o
f
this analysis
and
Get the most out of it.
Q1 is the foundation of the year and needless to say, The stronger the foundation is, the stronger and better it is, for the entire structure. In our case, our structure is 2014 and it's up to us to lay the foundation of that year in Q1. This is how Q1 is important to all of us.
We are doing our best to make things easier and smarter for everyone. So that a better future awaits us.
This Analysis is one step of the same.
Please feel free to contact me for any help that you might need regarding the analysis or International Relations for your LC.
