Pascal Mittermaier, Head of
Sustainability at Lend Lease, will
be presenting the challenges behind their
ground-breaking project - the urban
regeneration of Elephant and Castle.
How is the vision for a green and
sustainable urban-scape implemented? How do
we make the future happen now?
The Elephant & Castle project is one of the 17 Clinton Climate Initiative
flagship projects, offering critical
transformational opportunities in terms of
urban innovation to achieve zero carbon, the
generation of clean energy, waste
management, water management etc. It
superbly demonstrates and tests the agenda
we are co-creating.
Key Learnings of this session include:
-
Developing holistic
solutions - thinking together across
boundaries
-
Deeply engaging
communities and designing and creating
with them in order to achieve
significant transformation
-
Inside knowledge on
cutting edge low carbon futures, urban
redesign and regeneration, clean energy,
water and waste management.

GCP of the Weekrong>
This week we are
showcasing the practice of creatively
exploring the possibilities for making
larger impact. This case is from AIESEC in
Pakistan where they wanted to unleash OGX
performance beyond its boundaries at the
start of the term. These are the steps MC
followed:
1) Identified major cycles using information
on DAAL Files & did university research -
which universities have students free and
when;
2) Made on cycle OGX team and one Adhoc OGX
team in every LC. Adhoc teams had to carry
out their cycle independently and they
usually operate in universities we are not
generally operating in. These teams can be
used for new things that come up during the
term which havent been planned before. Adhoc
people can match with countries who don't
necessary run ICX on cycles, Like Sri Lanka
became a big partner for Pakistan. The Cycle
people are suppose to deliver on the main
cycles.
This way you can carry out OGX throughout
the year, rather than being dependent on
cycles. Besides that, MC launched an
Exchange Scholarship Fund. Due very good
performance in OGX department, MC could
pitch to their national board the idea of a
scholarship. This fund was used to award
best performing members some amount which
they can use to fund half of their exchange.
Enjoy and all the best :)

X+L
The global supporting
team of X+L has initiated a global
survey about X+L experiences. We got so
far 925 responses from people who lived
both experiences, and it has a very good
regional and experience representation.
What we find exciting from the
analysis of the survey?
92% of the responses said
they are satisfied with their leadership
experience, and
82% of them said they
are satisfied with their exchange
experience. And
98% claims that they think
dual experience is better than just
exchange or just leadership! Top
reasons being: enlarging my world view
and gaining valuable cultural and
business perspectives; getting better
understanding of myself and the field I
want to contribute in the future;
achieving complete development of my
competencies.
What are you waiting for? Going for dual
experience!

GC’s are experienced
AIESEC leaders with MC experience managing

departments like Campus Recruitment, HR, or
Talent Management and work with our
champions and partnership managers to ensure
the partnership is successfully delivered
and grown throughout their 12 month
position. Working closely with AIESEC
International’s ER team and the MC’s
