Hola a todos!
February was a full month for AIESEC in the Dominican Republic: finishing the National Recruitment, celebrating 16 years of AIESEC Santiago, one of our LCs, both MCPs attending IPM 2011 in Mexico City, continuing the search for one more VP for the MC team 2011-2012 of AIESEC Dominican Republic and celebrating the National Day of our country in a traditional way. We can proudly say that we continued to
DREAM BIG AND GO BEYOND EXPECTATIONS WITH AIESEC in Dominican Republic! We can also add that this month we took the first steps in re-opening one of our LCs: PUCMM Santo Domingo and so far we have 6 very committed new members helping us to re-build their LC.
Attending IPM 2011 in Mexico City brought good news for AIESEC Dominican Republic: one more year granted by the Global Plenary to prove we can become a full member and “make-over” of the MC office offered by our beloved Alumni, with the help of our dear members.
See you all at the end of March, with even better news! Laura, Sasha, Adaica and Manuel The MC team of AIESEC in the Dominican Republic 2010-2011
Success stories
1. Good case practices
Induction conferenceAfter a successful recruitment in January, in February we offered to our new members 2 concrete ways to get in touch with the organization, connect with experienced members and find out as much as possible about AIESEC Dominicana, through our induction conferences, organizing one in each city: Santiago and Santo Domingo.
BOA meetingThis month we managed to organize the first Board of Advisors meeting on our term. This seemed to be a promising collaboration between different generations of AIESEC Dominican Republic, generating new ideas for the future of our organization. One of the most successful outputs of this meeting was that both MCPs (elect and current) should attend IPM 2011 in Mexico City, in order to create a stronger image of our country in the Global Plenary.
We would like to sincerely thank to Yoselin Santiago, Melida Lugo y Minerva Lugo, Daniel Abreu, Ivan y Maria de Dios, Silvio Rodriguez, Joerg Aldinger, Eleuren Mendez, Kildare Guerrero, Francisco Brito, Henry Batista de Dios, Engel Sanchez, Ivan Jose Munos, Ingrid Cepeda, Jose Salce, Felipe Carnedas; attending IPM 2011 in Mexico City with 2 representatives for AIESEC Dominican Republic would not have been possible without your support.
2. Recognition
As we previously mentioned in our newsletters, we introduced a new Rewards and Recognition system and we will have the first awards officially given in NatCo 2011, on the 5th of March! If you want to see who is the best Xer, the best TMer, the best seller or which LC won the competition regarding the corect usage of the platform, come to the conference!

Exchange growth
Exchange Rocks more than ever!!!
Exchange have been one on the most success area in this year. We manage to bring trainees and send EPs all over the world and they are having a great professional and cultural experience.
We had created a booklet to facilitate information to incoming trainees about our country and we are developing the Trainee Buddy, the responsible of this project being Lostania Brutus. The main purpose of this project is to improve our services with the trainees having a better communication with their experience. Also we created a schedule for two reception activities per month which included a cultural night from a different country and a trip inside or outside of the city.
We want to congratulate all our trainees for the wonderful work that you are doing in your working places; we are very proud of you!!!
There are a lots of companies very interested in our Global Exchange Program and it is very important because this way we will increase our exchange incoming opportunities to have a better impact in the society and create a well known image of AIESEC in our National market.

February was an important month in the financial department. We finally got our external audit, thanks to the support of our national financial partner Horwarth Asociados. The results of this audit were presented to AIESEC international as part of the international criteria and now we should solve some observations our auditor made in order to improve our internal processes.
Also we will start for the first time in AIESEC in The Dominican Republic our VAT (Value Add Tax Report) initiatives, this being part of the new international criteria of AIESEC International.
