Position Title: Project Assistant/Case Manager, Return, Reintegration, and Family
Reunification Program for Victims of Trafficking in the United States (U.S.
Program)
Unit: Program Unit
Classification: G4 (according to the UN Washington salary scale)
Type of Appointment: Special Short Term contract - 6 months with the possibility of extension
Start Date: July 2011
Under the direct supervision of the U.S. Program Manager and the overall supervision of the Regional Representative for North America and the Caribbean, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following tasks and responsibilities:
1. Assist Project Manager with support to eligible victims of trafficking in the U.S.[1] who have applied, and been accepted to, the U.S. Program. This includes:
- Responding to program inquiries and requests for assistance;

Follow-up with referring agency to gather all necessary information to assist the case;
- Determination of program eligibility (in coordination with the Project Manager);
- General coordination of assistance to program beneficiaries, including provision of direction and guidance to IOM overseas offices supporting the program, as well as to U.S. service providers, as needed; and
- Liaising with relevant governmental and non-governmental agencies assisting victims of trafficking.
2. Assist Project Manager with financial tracking and monitoring.
3. Assist Project Manager in drafting of quarterly narrative reports.
4. Assist Project Manager in managing the project database
5. Conduct outreach, including dissemination of program updates and new information to U.S. partners and contacts, as well as to IOM missions.
6. Attend relevant meetings, trainings, and conferences related to trafficking in the U.S., as well as to other topics of interest.
7. Assist in the development and revision of informational materials and case management tools.
8. Replace Project Manager in his/her absence.
9. Collaborate with Mission colleagues working on a variety of migration-related issues, including child migration, migration and development, and border management.
10. Perform other such duties, as may be assigned.
Desirable Qualifications:
- University degree or a combination of equivalent training and experience; case management, social work, or legal background a plus.
- Familiarity with human trafficking and direct assistance to victims of trafficking.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English.
- Excellent spoken and written Spanish and/or French desirable.
- Strong personal commitment and drive for results.
- Highly organized, proactive, flexible, creative, and able to set priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively and harmoniously on a team and with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
