Dear friends and supporters of Swechha,
On January 17
th, 2016, Delhi’s citizens will come together to celebrate the power and potential of volunteerism by pledging their support to the lifeline of millions of Indians, the Yamuna. Ironically, the river has been reduced to a drain and is demanding immediate action from the state and civil society. Through Yamuna Shramdaan 2016, more than 500 citizens will engage in creative voluntary action for the cause of the river through a huge
shramdaan (manual clean-up) followed by a plantation on the river banks. Several volunteer involving organizations, schools and corporates of Delhi will converge on the banks of the river to make change happen.
The event is being organised by Swechha India, NDTV and UNV with support from civil society organisations.
You are invited to be a part of this unique ensemble committed to the cause of volunteering, to make change happen.
Looking forward to your participation.
Best Regards
Team Swechha
