Subject: Aid & Abet September Update
Hi All!Now that schools are coming back into session, things are really busy at Aid & Abet! We've added a bunch of awesome new speakers to our roster and we're in high gear booking events for the fall and spring - which, by the way, means to get your requests in soon for the upcoming school year.Let's get to it!- We're excited to announce a new partnership with PM Press! PM is an Oakland-based radical publisher with a huge roster, including John Curl, Gabriel Kuhn, Victoria Law, Terry Bisson, Jacinta BunnellAndrej Grubacic, Eric Drooker, and Staughton Lynd!- Besides PM Press, you might have noticed that the Aid & Abet roster expanded dramatically over the summer! Check out the new pages for sustainable foodie Lisa Jervis, activist artist Peter Kuper, low-power FM activists Prometheus Radio Project (who are planning a huge US tour for the spring!), and biodiesel expert Jon Starbuck. We'll be adding a few more throughout the fall.- Everyone is on tour! Well, not really, but it seems that way some times. Shira Tarrant, Lisa Jervis, Robert Hilary King, and Peter Kuper all have dates coming up in September or October - make sure to see them while they're on the road. The complete events list is here! And Anne Elizabeth Moore, Cristy Road (currently criss-crossing Europe with Sister Spit!), and Sabrina Chapadjiev all have tours in the works throughout the Fall. Check back on our website for updated information and contact Matt to set up an event with Anne or Cristy or Sabrina.- Aid & Abet is now booking four different traveling photo and newspaper exhibits of the Black Panther Party and other social justice movements of the 1960s and 1970s. These fascinating exhibits, culled by BPP historian Billy X Jenning (former aide to Huey P. Newton) from the expansive archives of the It's About Time Committee, offer a visual chronicle of an important time period in our history that must not be forgotten. For more information, go here. If you would like to bring an exhibit to your campus, museum or other venue, please contact Justine.- And speaking of Black Panthers, Aid & Abet is still actively booking events across the U.S. for Malik Rahim and Robert Hillary King. We are particularly looking for West Coast folks, and those in Colorado, who'd like to host Malik this fall. Please get in touch! And if you're in the Baltimore / DC area later this month, look for Robert at the Baltimore Book Festival, Busboys and Poets, and George Mason University. Events are listed here. Thanks, and more from us next month!Aid & Abet
