Dear All,

I will be out of the office (annual leave) from 13 to 23 Sep.09. Mr.
Gerry Garvey from DACAAR ( Deputy Cluster Lead ) will follow up the WASH
cluster works. Please contact Mr. Moorthy the Head of WASH Section in
UNICEF on matters related to the Cluster Lead (UNICEF) .

We have the following pending actions for follow up in the coming two
weeks:

Preparation of the Sector Response Plan: As discussed in the last
Cluster meeting the draft is prepared and needs to be reviewed by a
taskforce ( UNICEF, DACAAR, UNHCR, ACF, ACTED and MRRD) on Thursday 17
Sept. in DACAAR. . I would like to request the taskforce to focus only
on response plan as this document will be the base for the preparation
of response projects under HAP 2010. For preparedness we already have
developed our plan and it is available in the WASH Web page.
TOR for provincial and regional WASH focal points: This TOR in draft
was shared with the Partners. I hope to receive comments from the
Partners on the draft ASAP. I will finalize it after my return from
Leave this month.
3 Ws- WASH Sub-Sectors and Themes of Interventions.: The draft for this
purpose was send to you this morning. Please review and send back
comments to Gerry for finalization of the document.
Monthly Report. Please share with Gerry your inputs for the WASH Cluster
monthly update for September 09. I will prepare the report on my return.
Intercluster meeting: Gerry will participate and will share with you the
outcome.
Conflict related contingency planning: On Sunday 13 Sep.09 the task
force on this subject ( UNHCR, DACAAR, , Tearfund and UNICEF) will meet
and prepare the WASH part of the conflict related contingency plan
prepared by UNHCR. The draft will be discussed and shared with you by
Gerry for comments.


As I will be in Kabul, for any urgent matter can be reached through my
