Hi all,
This Nov. 12-13, I was at Abhyodhya Ashram in Morena. When I reached there first they thought that I came to ask for help for rescuing some girl from forced prostitution. They welcomed me with respect and care over there, after that I introduced myself. I came to know about many things over there. Fortunately, Ram Snehi was at ashram, for maximum time I was with him to get understanding of the organized crime; I am mentioning a few points which are inputs to develop my own understanding and are concern of people who are working against forced prostitution and sexual exploitation related crime:
· First of all, I would like to introduce him. He is from a community where family prostitution practices are common. In those areas, even on the main highway, you can find that brother and father are negotiating for price for sexual exploitation of their girl. He was just 12 years old when in Meerut red-light area he found that his cousin is the cheapest prostitute (hardly getting 1 or 2 rupees) in that area. Most of the days she could not reach the target set for her so after the whole day of exploitation pimps used to beat her frequently. That was the time when her 12 year old cousin rescued her and from that time till now he has rescued thousands of girls from forced prostitution. Many times he was beaten up. He use to keep a cycle chain with him to fight. Every week was like a full movie story. There was the time when at Mumbai red light area, only the rumors that he is there could terrified to mafia and pimps. Later he established Abhyodhya Ashrama, which is now a safe home for the hundreds of rescued prostitutes and their children. Daily Prarthana and Karate is must for all. It has given many state and national level players. More than 57 girls are married now. I have never seen so much cultured students and women in my life. Every day Ram Snehi wakes up by 3:30a.m. and start the day with yoga and prayer. And it ends with the prayer that whatever he has done is because of the virtue of the God and that he has assigned that work to me.
A calm saint who is a reformer, leader and savior of thousands of innocent life.
· Poverty is not the only reason for prostitution, most of the time it is someone else's greed and crime which push a girl into prostitution. Once she enters it there is no comeback even from society and family point of view. Even the laws does not criminalize the demand which provide economic support for such crime (In few countries like Sweden, criminalization of demand is there and condition has improved).
· Rescuing a girl is not easy because she don’t trust anyone. She has seen the whole world nude which is full of lust (politicians, bureaucrat, judges, NGO's workers, policemen…….)
· One more reason is that because of internet, industrial hub, where a new set of people live far from family, is increasing demand of sex objects. In most of the cases these are girls. So continuous supply of product is increasing demand of crime. This is increasing demand of illegal weapons and corruption till the level of state capture.
· Some time it’s hard to prove rape case in court because some professional criminals use condom. So, there is no proof, even in medical report, against them.
· As per him girls are also one reason for increased crime against them. They don’t wear decent clothes (Not because of cold or to hide body parts). And now a day not even to look beautiful, they wear indecent clothes to look sexy (by showing body curves etc.), hot etc. and to be point of attraction. It’s obvious that man will be sexually attracted towards them; this might be one of the reasons for increasing cases of sexual harassment at work place, especially in metro cities. This impact in two ways first this create the environment where sex potential is more, obviously this will lead to more sex related crime and second, it’s creating disinterest among the people who want to work for such issues.
· Even after lots of effort situation is becoming worst. Because of technology it’s easy to organize crime also.
· On the name of AIDs there are many NGOs who are working but most are for money and not reaching to the root of such issues.
· Crime has got itself organized across the world. They are seeking big market in India to explore. This includes poor policy, lobbying for decrimilization of organized prostitution, and decrimilization of use of drugs in some countries etc.
- When I asked what is the qualities one person should have to work for such issues?
- He told me that one should have true intention to do. And look/think about your each and every thought or behavior, everything, if they are as per your true intentions. Are you the right person to do this? Suppose you are working for environmental issues, then first thing is your every action and thought should be in favor of the nature. Then you are the right person to do that. And if you are the right person to do that then you deserve to do it. If you deserve to do it and you have true intentions to do that, then you will be able to do that. And that’s when even god will be with you.
Let us give a thought to his experience.
Thanks & Regards
