AICHE Puget Sound Board Elections!!

Greetings Members,

In order to continue the running of the AICHE Puget Sound section, I
would like to hear from persons who are willing to serve on the
Board. Since we haven't had a very active year, we need people to
step forward and help run things and provide new ideas. To that end,
I am proposing that we have an election. We have openings for all
Board positions, including:

1. Chair--runs things and presides over meetings
2. Vice Chair--fills in when the chair is not present and helps in
various activities
3. Treasurer--is charged with the collection and disbursement of funds
4. Secretary--keeps records, issues notices, and files yearly report

Please let me know if you would like to nominate yourself for a Board
position. Please also send me a Statement why you would like to run
for a Board position and other information you think is important. I
will then send your Statement to the general membership who will
proceed to cast their votes. I think that it would also be helpful if
the candidates attend the May meeting in order that any members that
are present may have the opportunity to meet you in person. I am
proposing that we close nominations by May 17. According to our
bylaws, we can elect members at the annual meeting or by mail Since I
don't think we are having an annual meeting where many members would
show up, I propose that we have a mail election. The schedule would
be the following:

May 17, 2009--Nominations Close (email your Statement to me)
May 19, 2009--Meet the Candidates
by May 31, 2009--Send out ballots and Statements to membership via
email
June 30, 2009--Deadline to vote. Mail completed ballot to: 1420 Fifth
Ave. Suite 2800, Seattle WA 98101. Results to shortly follow
thereafter.

Please let me know if you have any concerns with the election or the
schedule I propose.
