Dear reader,

We present you with a selection of last week articles published at alternativenews.org, a news website maintained by the Alternative Information Center (AIC) and dedicated  to promote a joint Palestinian-Israeli struggle and opposing actions that "normalise" Israel's occupation policies that present the Israeli-Arab conflict as one of conflicting narratives.

REMEMBER: YOU CAN SUPPORT THE STRUGGLE

* Bethlehem: occupation impedes tourism

Thousands of Pilgrims are set to visit Bethlehem and the Church of Nativity in the next two months to celebrate Christmas at the holy site where Jesus was born. For the city of Bethlehem, tourism is central to the economy, however, due to the occupation, this potential cannot be fully realized.

* Popular day of rage against Prawer Plan

The popular Day of Rage against the Prawer plan on Saturday was met with brutal Israeli police violence. Palestinians and Israelis protested Saturday against the “Prawer Plan”, a plan to resettle Bedouins in townships in the Negev. The protests were part of a "day of rage" in the Naqab (Negev), Haifa, Tayibe, Jerusalem and Jaffa, as well as in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

* Netanyahu against the whole world

Western governments are fed up with the Israeli angry reactions to the agreement between them and the Iranian government. “It is done, and there is no way back”: this is the message they are conveying to the Israeli government, adding that the best for Israel would have been to participate in the international efforts for a final agreement on the nuclear capacities of Iran.

* Israel plays with fire at Al Aqsa Compound

MK Miri Regev (Likud), chairwoman of the Knesset Interior Committee, instructed police on Monday to ensure that Jewish visitors to the Al Aqsa compound (Temple Mount) are able to visit the site unimpeded by police or Arab demonstrators.

* Video: Activists detained in South Hebron Hills

On November 23 at around 8.30 am, Palestinian, Israeli and international activists organized an action to access Palestinian-owned land in Umm Al Arayes, located adjacent to the Mitzpe Yair outpost. When several people arrived to the area for the action, Israeli soldiers immediately approached them, showing a military order that extended the permanent closed military zone (usually limited to a valley between a Palestinian village and the Mitpe Yair outpost) to the entire Mitzpe Yair area, including the Palestinian-owned land.
