instant savings on our workshops and events with one low annual fee.
Join us for a tour of the City College of San Francisco Joint-Use
Academic Facility at the Ocean Avenue Campus, which is almost at
construction completion. Bovis Lend Lease is currently managing the
construction on Phelan Avenue under a "Construction Management at
Risk" delivery contract. The 112,000 square foot, three-story facility
includes classrooms and laboratories, and features an open atrium for
natural ventilation and radiant flooring for heating and cooling. The
building also houses a central plant which will collect energy from an
extensive ground loop geothermal well system to serve the Joint-Use
Building and other Ocean Avenue Campus facilities. The project has
registered for LEED for New Construction and is targeting a Gold
rating.
Construction on this project is almost complete, but it is still an
active construction site. Hard hats, safety glasses, and a liability
waiver are required to go on the tour. If you have your own hard hat
and safety glasses, please bring them. If not, one or both items will
be provided to you at the site.
Because construction is in progress, each tour is limited to 25
people. Please register early and indicate which tour you will be
attending.
The tour will be led by Bovis Lend Lease Project Manager Adam Benzuly
and Project Engineer Jeremiah Cothren.
Tour 1: 4:30-5:30pm
Tour 2: 5:30-6:30pm
Learning Objectives

About the Tour Guides
Adam Benzuly PE, LEED AP, Project Manager, Bovis Lend Lease
With over 13 years of experience, Adam Benzuly has an excellent track
record of providing successful project management services. His
expertise includes design, start-up and construction of small
commercial buildings to large R&D campuses from concept through
construction. Over the last five years, his primary focus has been on
the construction and start-up of educational facilities, healthcare,
R&D and high-rise residential towers. His "hands on" construction
knowledge is complemented by his design experience and ability to
manage large, complex projects from schematic design through
construction and into post-occupancy. Adam Benzuly is a registered
professional Mechanical Engineer in the State of California as well as
a LEED Accredited Professional.

Jeremiah Cothren, LEED AP, Project Engineer, Bovis Lend Lease
Jeremiah Cothren has worked for Bovis Lend Lease for over 1-1/2 years
working on high-rise residential and educational facilities as a
Project Engineer. After completing his undergraduate degree in
Architecture from UC Berkeley, Jeremiah worked abroad as a Junior
Architect in the United Arab Emirates, working on various mix-use
developments and low-rise residential projects. He always maintained a
high level of environmental integrity by introducing innovative
schematic designs to the Dubai Transit Authority to help initiative
dialogue about the importance of sustainable design to a community
that was still developing a methodology for approaching green design.
His experience both internationally and here locally in California has
lent for his appreciation of construction means and methods,
especially in terms of responsible energy and environmental design. As
a LEED AP, Jeremiah is currently tracking the LEED construction
submittal for the Joint Use Facility which not only taps into his
architectural and construction knowledge, but also how the role of
project manager plays into the process as a whole.
