I am experimenting with the Google Blogspot service. Once again, this
is an attempt to allow council members to update or add individual
pages. It is also a place for the e-mail update to point to for
further information, in addition to the main AIAA SF website.
You can see what I have so far at:
http://aiaa-sf.blogspot.com
The latest dinner meeting is there at:
http://aiaa-sf.blogspot.com/2008/08/panel-discussion-what-can-you-expect.html
Pros:
* updates selectable by label, e.g., council, dinner meetings, pre-
college, etc.
* upload photos
* multiple authorship without intense HTML knowledge
Cons:
* no way to upload arbitrary external files, e.g., MS Office or
OpenOffice documents or PDF. (No Word, no PowerPoint.) As with the
wiki, these might be considered virus risks.
Some features that I've enabled:
* news keyword search
* videos keyboard search of YouTube library
* reader comments
Let me know what you think.
